Tube reverses diabetes by causing 40% weight loss

May work for those with insulin resistant type 2 but i do not think it will work well with any other type. But this prove that the cure is near and i do not care if it for type 1 , 1.5 or 2 as long it begin somewhere.

I weighed 101 kgs in june this year. Now weigh 65 kgs. Lost nearly 40% of my starting weight. Still diabetic.

I have no doubt that for some people.losing some weight will make a huge difference. But for many of us it will not make any difference at all. And if my skinny mum lost nearly half her body weight she would blow away in a stiff breeze.

I really welcome all the new research showing that weight loss can help t2d, particularly after the misinformation that nothing will help. But I do worry that no other research will get underway that looks at causes other than weight.

Fascinating! Basically preventing the absorption of energy in the food consumed (the way I read it).

To qualify they didn't have to be as obese as for gastric by bass surgery.

For me to qualify for NHS bariatric surgery my BMI had to be > or = 35, same as endobarrier. I was also "interviewed" by a psychiatrist and a dietician. I didn't qualify because my BMI wasn't high enough, plus I wasn't keen anyway, I was more interested in knowing why my metabolism was "broken" as the GP described it. It does sound very interesting though. I've been consuming less than 1500 calories for years, so reducing calorie absorption where 1500 is the starting point (my RMR is 2300 calories per day) might help me achieve what I would do on something like the Newcastle Diet.
