Hey guys!

I've come down with a tummy bug at about 3am thus morning :( it's not pleasant at all I can't keep anything down!

My levels are a little high today although ice not eaten anything, is thus normal? Also what do I do about my metformin? If I take it without any food in me then I know it will just make it all worse!!

Please help :(

You poor thing, I hope you get better quick. Your body is fighting virus or infection of some sort, so yes, its normal to have higher bg levels as a result.
If I were you I would give the metformin a miss today, have plenty of soothing drinks, eg fruit/herbal teas, or warmed coconut milk with a little sweetener, cinnamon, cocoa powder or ginger added.
Or maybe you can have a light vegetable soup/bouillon, home made would be best, use lots of fresh vegetables.
You have to make sure that you avoid becoming dehydrated, let nature take its course, just relax, rest up, if you dont feel any better by tomorrow contact your GP.

Must be doing the rounds Jaxx, I have one too :( thankfully the vomitting stopped late last night, and I just managed a hard boiled egg. Take it easy and feel better soon, best wishes Jane xx

Plenty of liquid so that you dont dehydrate but it is best not to have any dairy until the bug has gone Hot marmite or oxo is quite soothing .If you are very hungry a chopped apple can help if you can manage the carbs . Hope you feel better soon
