So I've got yet another tummy bug prob my 6th since last jan could it be diabetes causing me to catch them easier unfortunate I work with food so each time I have to have up to 3 days off getting in trouble at work now

Hi Hev

Don't know the answer to that. I was wondering if it was medication you're on but I see you're diet only at the moment.

Any chance it's a new food?

Hi I eat pretty much the same I just want to rule out the diabetes as no one else I no with it suffers like I do it's like I have no immune system sice being diagnosed could be a coincidence most prob is butbi have one person that keeps going on and saying its because I have diabetes my immune system lower so I will pick up the bugs more just wondered if there was any truth in it and what I can do to prevent catching them

Have you considered wheat or lactose intolerance? Do you feel unwell and vomiting?

I'm wheat intollerant and if I eat wheat accidentally then I get the runs, this is not a tummy bug but my lower bowel feels terrible at the time.

Hi,
I have had an upset stomach for several months now. About 3 to 4 times a week I have extremely loose bowel movements.

I thought at first it was the Metformin (although I had been on it for nearly ten years) so my DNS changed it to the Metformin SR with no change. I then thought that it might be the insulin causing it or the boil/abscess that I have had for over a year.

But I did some research, and found out that there is evidence that Diabetes and dia...cannot spell it  ,the runs go together. There has been some scientific research on this subject but not a lot. It may just be that some of us are just unlucky. Will not help your problem I know but may help to understand the why!!

Take Care

Hi Im no expert with diabetes as I am new to this but I too work with children and food and have to abide by the 48hr rule as well for d+v.

As you have had so many tummy bugs in such short time have you thought about getting a stool sample checked just in case. It then would be a step in the right direction to see if you have a bug that isnt quite clearing up properly. If it comes back clear at least you can tell work its not a bug but its part of how your body now works.

Wishing you all the best

Alison

thanks for replys had my check with nurse todya and asked her she said that there is some evidence to suggest diabeties does lower ur immune system slightly whch could account for why i keep picking up the bugs :(
