Today when fixing something to eat I thought that Tuna and Cheese seem like a really odd combination to put in a sandwich. I have never ever before had a tuna and cheese sandwich and I don't see this type on sale in any shops either. Would you eat a tuna and cheese sandwich?

Tuna melts and tuna and cheese toasties are common enough if you google them. I eat rye bread with a layer of cream cheese, some rocket and then smoked salmon, so it's not a million miles from tuna and with cheese. Here's a nice looking tuna and cheese melt on ciabatta:

If I had it, I'd use rye bread crisped up in a griddle with a little olive oil and have it with a homemade salsa.

I Used to love tuna melts........maybe I can turn it low carb........

....So looking at Yorksman's picture of the tuna and cheese dish above.....I would have a plate of salad and then put the cheese and tuna on top. I am a cheeseaholic though so I would eat cheese with most things given the chance.

tuna, feta cheese and olives go well on a bed of salad, drizzle a little oil on and finish off with a splash of balsamico.

If you want to turn up the heat, add a few slices of pickled chilli:

If you have a freshly squeezed lemon juice in a drink, it'll tone down the chilli afterwards.

Absolutely I would and I do. Tuna is a great sandwich filling and my favourite is tuna & sweetcorn. Best sandwich ever is either bacon with HP sauce or cheese 'n' onion

Oh heck....bacon and HP sauce is my OH's fave sandwich in the world! Trouble is that now I am having bacon for brekkie with my eggs and mushrooms he says Hey can you do me some bacon too, that smells DElicious! He's eating all my bacon! Huh..........

.......tell him to get his own or he does the washing up.......

Yeah well, he does do a lot of the washing up already, he's pretty **** good really and I honestly can't moan but it's still depressing to see one of the only things I CAN eat disappearing down his cavernous throat!! Nah, he's a good bloke and I don't mind really...well not much really......ummmmmmmmm

As someone who generally hates both tuna and cheese, I am surprisingly keen on tuna and cheese toasties...

Love tuna but couldn't eat it in a toastie

Don't knock it till you've tried it! I was dubious too but it's surprisingly nice

Very true Giverny. My old time favourite toastie is cheese & tomato......think I'll have one tonight

God your making me hungry!! no lunch today as i skip out early on a friday :/ maybe when I get back ill fight the cats for a tuna and chese on toast (spring onion and mayo also)

Can anyone suggest a recipe which includes eggs for someone who hates eggs? I haven't eaten them since I was 7 years old. The only exception to this was when I was pregnant. I had a craving for a pineapple and banana omelette. It was wonderful.

Does anyone know where you can get "liquid egg whites in the UK". I see them advertised alot in the US food diaries etc.

Thanks

Waitrose or Tesco, or you can get them in a hard outside case, although they're packaged with a yellow bit too,
