Just bringing to people's attention two really excellent sources on the topic of nutrition, health and cholesterol. I know this is the Type 1 forum, but nutrition is of very great interest and importance to many Type 1s, so there are many here who may be interested.

The first is an Australian biochemist and pathologist specialising in cholesterol issues working in Melbourne, Ken Sikaris, who has some very good video presentations on YouTube on the science behind blood chemistry, cholesterol and cardiovascular disease - and how to avoid CVD. He is a LCHF proponent, also. (Surprise surprise, he recommends LCHF as lowering triglycerides and thus massivly lowering CVD risk.) This stuff is very compact and terse, very technical, but I like it. Here is one and there are plenty more.

The other is a blog I've not come across before, by an American surgeon, Peter Attia, who moved over from surgery to nutrition, fitness and health. He's not a diabetic, but eats LCHF. He works with Gary Taubes. The great thing about his blog is that he writes in an incredibly clear and detailed, almost philosophical way about method in these topics. He takes you right through the thinking. I find it fascinating.
