Hello, I am a 32 year old female, and had Typw 1 diabetes for 5 years now. I am pretty well controlled my last Hba1c was 53, but I am experiencing tight chest pain, back pain and pain/aches in my arms and shoulders. This could be completely un related to diabetes but I always worry about the long term impacts on my health, and if everything is ok with my heart etc. any advice or anything would be grateful.
Hi @ESnash92 and welcome to the forum. Not to alarm you but chest pain should be taken seriously, not everything is caused by our diabetes. Can I suggest you ring 111 for advice?
Welcome to the forum @ESnash92, forum rules don’t allow us to diagnose or speculate what it might be, none of us are medically trained. @Rachox is right chest pain can be serious and not everything is connected to diabetes, and it’s not going to go away because you ignore it, please call 111 and they will triage you to decide what’s the best course of action for you. It may be nothing but it’s always advisable to get chest pain checked out.
Please if you feel you can let us know how you get on
Hello @ESnash92 like the others have said I think it would be a good idea to get this checked out but you say about the pains in your arms and shoulders and as that is similar to what I have experienced I wonder if you are taking statins ? I have just stopped taking them and the pains I was experiencing have disappeared .
