Hi im posting here for my husband. He was diagnosed diabetic last year but were unsure what type. Was on glicazide but 2 weeks ago went onto insulin. He also has chronic pancreatitis and is loosing weight. Seems like a vicous circle watching what to eat because of his diabetes but needs to eat more to put on weight. Has anyone else known someone in this same sort of situation. Keep visiting docs but just get sent away with higher dose of pancreas enzyme tablets. Its so frustrating and I cant bear to see him in pain all the time.
Any advice would be helpful.

How awful for your husband Sammy, I can't offer any advice but if you type 'Pancreatitis' in the Search facility at the top right-hand side of the forum you may find some advice from previous discussions.

Oh Sammy, what a worry for you both, I wonder have you seen this website >>http://www.pancreatitis.org.uk/

I hope and pray you/your husband find the help you so badly need.

Thinking of you, hugs x x

Hi Sammy - I am using my husbands log in :)
Felt the need to reply to you because he has exactly the same problem as your husband. There is a forum - http://www.pancreatitis-forum.org.uk and everyone there is extremely helpful and understanding.

There are sufferers and carers (like you and me) in the forum and there is an endless supply of information, help and people willing to listen.

I understand your frustration of feeling absolutely helpless watching your husband suffer with the pain :(

Please register on the pancreatitis site - you will not regret it.
Take care
Dawn xx
