Hello,
I am type 1 diabetic and am 28 years old. I have had diabetes for 22 years.
I have just started going to the gym regularly and wondered if anyone had any tips on what to eat or how to run your sugars so that you don't hypo straight after. Twice this week I have tested before gym session and been at a blood sugar of 13 (following advice of diabetic clinic that I should run higher) and after gym session I plummeted to 2.4. To me this seems like a lot! Anyway tonight I went and tried running very high before I went. I was 18.4 and again after an hour at the gym was 6.4!!
Does anyone else find this?
I'm going to the gym as I want to tone up and lose about half a stone as I'm not overweight. I don't want to have to eat lots to compensate goin to the gym as this surely defeats the object of trying to lose weight.
Anyone's help would be appreciated
Thanks
Kate
