Type 1 and having tattoos

Is there anything I should be doing before sitting in the tattoo chair in regards to blood sugars etc?
I am in the process of having a body suit and haven't had a tattoo for 3 years before being diagnosed so just trying to find out if I should be regularly checking bloods etc

Ive had minor/small tattoos done previously with no effect on BGs with being T1 just continue with regular routine & beware of any symptoms during & after the work. A body suit seems a long process & painful for me!! good luck with it!!

Your healing will be impaired if your sugars aren't controlled, so it's important that you keep them as close to normal as possible. Other than that, make sure you have some Lucozade or something with you in case your levels drop as they are doing your tattoo. If you need to test then just ask for a break.

I've got three tattoos, all have been done since being diagnosed with diabetes. I've had no issues with healing with any of them. I just have issues deciding what I want to have done - always seem to change my mind once I get in the seat lol

Just make sure blood sugars are a little higher and take a glucose drink.
