Hello,
I have had type 1 for about 15 years now, and although I seem to eat healthy (lots of fresh fruit and veg daily), exercise, hardly any alcohol and I do not smoke but I always end up picking up bugs. Over the past few months I have had about 3 colds, a sore throat, I had a reaction to some food I ate even though my partner had some too (he never got ill), and now recently a very bad fluy type thing which has given me v high blood sugars and ketones. Even in the previous three years I have picked up lots of sick bugs, chest infections, throat infections all sorts!
With the flu thing I have now, I have managed to flush the ketones out and get my blood sugar down by doubling my correction dose, but I wondered if anyone else had the same? Or knew of anything to take to try and boost the immune system. I seem to have a healthy lifestyle but that doesn't seem to reflect in my general well being!
An early Happy New Year to you all!
