Type 1: Control becoming harder - any advice?

Hi I have been on insulin for 24yrs since I was 52 yrs I have had good hb1c at 6.4 for many years as I am getting older my b/s control is hard work I feel as though my readings.are controlling me and I am eating a lot law and am constantly hungry any advise would be appreciated aimee1

Can you tell us a little more? What insulin do you take and when? Do you count carbs?

I take humalog and lantus I asked my gp about a carb course but he said there were none near us and just eat healthy I take 6 to8 units humalog before meals and 18 units lantus at night

Hmm, I'd keep asking your DSN as one may come up. You could also ask to see a dietician, who may be able to help. The basic principles are simple.
