Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

Hi @Rleady1357, I’m sorry to hear that.
I’m also not surprised to hear that you’re feeling burnt out, and helpless. Have you got good care from a GP or clinic? Have you been given any advice about how to live with it?
Our immune systems really are the pits, aren’t they, as if it isn’t enough to create Type One yours has put another little present on the mantelpiece for you.
I think you need some great big fat hugs so I’m sending you a basketful.

Haven’t had any appointment to see anyone for months! When I do get an appointment they always tell me they’ll sort me out with a dietician and stuff but never bother. I have only had both conditions for 3 years (I think)

Yep! Absolutely awful immune system! Haven’t read much good news about Chronic Pancreatitis survival either, rough times indeed!

Are you in the U.K.?
If you are, could you ask your GP to refer you to a pancreatic centre?
There seems to be a lot of info here, but you’ve probably already read it all.
And if your GP isn’t proactive, could you look for another Practice that is?

Yes I am from the UK!
I was honestly looking into potentially going private in all honesty, the ones round here aren’t up to much. Rang 96 times one morning and still couldn’t get through.

Don’t think there is much out there for Chronic pancreatitis, no alcohol or smoking but I don’t do either! My diet isn’t even that bad also

Just a massive struggle

Are you prescribed something for pain relief? Do you have a DSN you can ring? Have you been given specialist dietary advice?
I know these are basic questions but ‘no’ answers suggest you need to raise a complaint.
It seems that there’s lots of dietary advice on the net that originates from various hospital centres and you’ve probably scoured these already.

Good morning.
Is there an NHS urgent treatment centre that you could go to?
I ask because I had a medical problem and couldn’t get an appointment, even though it was clear that the problem would get worse without treatment.
An urgent care GP sorted it.
I then switched to a different GP practice.
Might be worth a try?

By the way, if you’ve not already done so, have a look at the Type 3c section of the forum: quite a few people on there who’ve had (chronic) pancreatitis for quite a while.
