TYPE 1 Diabetes in a warzone

As a TYPE 1, this blog has a real resonance; living with Diabetes when you have access to ample medication/health care is difficult enough, but the plight of diabetics in 'war zones' is immense.

Certainly makes you stop and think. I must admit, regardless of peoples individual views on the refugee 'crisis', I often sit here in my warm little home and think of those poor souls (especially the children) having to sleep out in the freezing weather....

I have mentioned to my teenager about how type 1's cope in 3 rd world countries and war zones, but never read the reality of it. It does make you stop and think about the terrible struggles that people go through day by day and with a life long chronic condition too, my heart goes out to them..............

As you say, @Neemo, living with Type 1 is difficult enough, even with all the help we can accept without question. Sometimes I worry about my own health but then count my blessings when reminded of what it must be like if you have no functioning or reliable health system on your side.
