It seems after being told 100% that I am now a type 1 diabetic by my consultant doctor a few weeks ago and told to come in today to start the ball rolling to sort out insulin and me being worried about injecting myself that they've now said I'm not a type 1 im still a type 2 and to keep taking the tablets that I am on"metformin " and a new one called cliptaside I think that's how you spell it

I was wondering how things were going for you just today - how are you feeling about all this?

Hi. Confusing isn't it. Gliclazide works by stimulating the pancreas to produce more insulin. It can be useful if you are a slim 'T2' and possibly a late onset T1 (LADA). I went down a similar route. Do make sure you use a meter as you can go hypo with this drug if the dose is set too high. See how it goes. The two tablets and a low-carb diet may be all you need. If your blood sugar does continue to rise over the coming months, however, then suspect being T1 and ask for the tests for it.

Hi I'm sort of a few things angry at myself the thought that I've been stressed about becoming T1 and that going onto insulin then glad because I'm not T1 worried that it still might happen and I've got to go through all that again.
They've said stay on for 3 months then do bloods again but I know this sounds wrong but just want to get some kind of life again getting stressed over not being T1 and getting stressed about staying T2 and becoming T1.
I know I've only just joined this group and it sounds like I want I want already
