Type 1: How long does metformin take to work?

Hello, all feedback welcome. Been prescribed metformin last week. No real sign of it working yet. Early days yet I know.

What dosage are you on. Doctors tend to titrate the dosage. So yes really days.

1000mg, but will go to 1500 next week.

I thinks may drugs take a couple of weeks to kick in. Patience!

Metformin in most people has only a relatively minor effect. To be effective your body must still be producing some insulin itself.
