Type 1 in the news!

I love the way Poppy Nash is interpreting her life with diabetes through her creativity.

In contrast to her, my own art is more of an escape from my diabetes! I don't think I'd ever really thought about the two aspects of my life in tandem, as it were. My diabetes can influence my work, but only in terms of whether I'm doing it or not (I stop for hypos, for instance!). I've never tackled it the other way round, using it as an actual creative influence.

Food for thought, though.

:)

I have also used my art as an escape up until now.My diagnosis as D2 came sixteen years ago, after completing a.textile art course and most of my work is based on my surrounding countryside.Poppy is an inspiration, interpreting her life with diabetes through textiles.......It certainly has given me food for thought too SnapsyI would love to visit her exhibition. The textile art group I work with will need a theme for this Autumn.Im thinking we could look at our individual health restraints, and go from there!Just realised this is a type1 thread hope you don't mind me gate crashing!!
