Hello everyone , been diabetic since Aug 13 been struggle ever since was informed my pancreas was knackered and eventually will be on insulin

Last hbvc1 result was the best 6:9 so much so my doctors wanted started to reduce the medication ( 4 metformin a day ) then the bombshell after leaning surgery I started getting hypos and high st the same time at one point was 16mml after eating breakfast , was never below 13

Eventually doctors said I might b type 1 not 2 all this time

But I have been below 13mml recently again this is getting me down

Could they be wrong ? Is it my meter is faulty when I changed the micro let it seemed to lower my numbers or is it ism type 1

Hello. Give us an idea of what you ate for breakfast and we may have a clue. I see from your other post that you have been given @daisy1's info for newbies, so I assume you have an idea of low-carb eating.

I try to mix it but mainly eggs /beans /toast //cereal ( very low cereal and 1 slice of bread ) but I could b 5 in day have the same breakfast next day be 10mml

Same for lunch and dinner low carb but reading r never the same even though the food remind the same

Try cutting out baked beans, all bread and cereal, replace them with fat & protein, and see what reading you get. If that tests ok you can try a little bread and test, then just a bit of cereal and test. (I should abandon the beans altogether for now.)
Also, not sure what you mean by your pancreas is knackered. That would make you a 3c (very rare). And I imagine a lot more ill without treatment.
Sorry, just need clarification.

Can you give us your fasting before meal readings and then your one hour and two hours readings after your breakfast, as the spike is very high, very quickly.

You do need to reduce your carbs and sugars significantly if they are giving you those type of readings.
Carbs, like bread, cereals and the sauce in beans turn to glucose and your blood has too much already!
