Hi I gave up nearly 5 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. My only regret was not doing it sooner.
It takes, determination, guts and will power to stop. but It's down to the individual, if people REALLY want to stop then they can do it. I have not touched a cigarette since and I never will, can't stand the smell, makes me heave it's so disgusting :yuck:.
Sugar free polo mints helped me and the support from my then 9 year old x The first week was the hardest and I was climbing the walls at times, but changing your routine, distractions, taking up a new hobby ( but not cigars or a pipe lol ) and going to bed early can help. There is help out there, patches, Inhalers, etc from your GP, and pharmacist too or just cold turkey!! .
Good luck and all the best :)

you should try the smoking liquid vaporizers.............

they taste nice, have nicotine in them, and give you the burning sensation at the back of the throat........

I had quit for 2 years up until last year when they creeped back in at the weekend with alcohol.........

on the vaporizer now though as my eyes have been deteriorating [very minor] due to, well, blood pressure, so had to come off them..........

it is hard though as I genuinely enjoy smoking, at least with booze or after a good feed..........

good luck.......

Get an electronic cigarette for when you get the urge to smoke.

Umm my mum might one day read this forum, so, no I don't smoke, never have never will. Honest!
But if, hypothetically speaking, I had smoked - I may say once the nurse told me how much damage smoking can do to a diabetic, that I would have suddenly found a reason to quit, and it would have been easier.

Of course, as I never smoked, I cannot confirm this story, but deffo speak to ur doc or nurse and they will support u for sure
