Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I am 5.2% but because I was admitted to hospital with a severe hypo problem my target apparently has gone up from below 6.5 to 7.5
These bloody doctors are just trying to save themselves from me dying in bed probably !!

Just got my blood work results back - I am actually very impressed with the lab, they took blood and the results were posted to my online account by the end of the day.Went in at noon, had my results at around 8pm - fairly impressed for this tiny town lol

Anyway, my HbA1C results returned at 5.4% ! I am still very surprised that that i have managed to keep my A1C in between 5-6% for my first 2 years with T1D, does anyone know if there is a possibility of false readings ? lol

43, up from 41 last time.

I'm still being told it's too low for T1.

As far as I know, I've not had a hypo for over a month (and that wasn't too bad at 3.4).

36mmol, am pleased and put it down to my pump and particularly the Libre, cholesterol a bit rubbish at 7.4 but high HDL of 2.7 so will have the usual fight against taking statins. There's always something. Incidentally hypo recognition is good.

I can't cope with diabetes I'm high all the time even though I am working my socks off day and night to control it. no one understands my pain and I am starting to feel so overwhelmed that I don't know how I'm going to cope.

Same thoughts here :
Nov, 15 - 12.6
May, 16 - 4.9
Aug, 16 - 4.9

I am on LCHF diet. This time I got my HBA1C from different lab and still 4.9. I am surprised with my results.

Whoa great results!

I had my doctors appointment and asked if there was anyway i could be 'cheating' and not knowing it, like something I am eating or drinking or doing to trick the test. My endocrinologist told me "no - there is no way that is possible' so that is that! I feel much better knowing its not some mistake, or way of life that is fooling the blood tests - its legit lol

Enjoy your 4.9s and keep them coming!

My 6 monthly review last week and I was up a little at 7.1 (54 new money). I expected this as recently been hospitalised with angina and ended up with 2 stents in two main arteries.

4.7% last week result with the power of carb counting. No serious hypo if their is any maybe once awhile and I eat good amount of carb maximum of 150g with I don't care day once a week (but still count my carb properly)

previous hba1c 6.8% im aiming for atleast a 6% this time for a planned surgery...i am hoping my new freestlye libre will help me achieve this!

It's not easy. I've been doing it for 22yrs and I still struggle.

Take a breath. Make a food diary and side note of BM results and how much insulin you give yourself. Give it a week. If you can't understand your readings, show it to your specialist nurse, or even your dietician. They may see something you've not thought of that could make everything simpler.

Don't give up. It's exhausting but it's worth it. Use the support around you.
