Any thoughts on intermittent fasting? Would be very much appreciated.
From a weight loss and blood glucouse stability view, is it a good idea?
Did it work wonders for early morning rises etc?..

How long would the fast be for? I eat one meal a day (always have done really) around 5pm, then have a small snack just before bed (15g carb) then that's it until 5 pm the next day. I don't need to lose weight but it definitely stabilises my glucose levels. They generally remain at a steady level during the 'fast' and then rise & drop for my evening meal then back to stable again. x[/QUOTE
Have tried whole day fasts in the past (just black coffee) and certainly found things were smoother provided I kept moderately active (no liver dumps). After 3 days I couldn't sleep though not ravenous!
If you are already doing OMAD I'd hope you would be benefitting from this in terms of weight loss as you're already fasting 19:5? so surely it is your basal that is not working for you ? What are you eating in that one big meal btw? If it is a meal with fat and carbs this may give you a morning rise aka the pizza effect and possibly also the reason you have a late night carb snack too? (bolus drops you down too low before bed). This is a total guess so let us know and I am sure we can all problem solve!
Sorry and yes I was addressing the OP! More coffee and less foruing required!Hi Nicole, did this get a bit mixed up?, my post was:

My one meal a day is usually low carb, my bolus is fine, I only eat a snack before bed because I'm greedy and if anything I'm a little bit underweight!(Apologies if you were addressing the OP).
