Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

21.9 at bed last night( 11:47pm)( set / pod change as high BG and low on insulin (( 6u left)) and 19.7 at 1am and 15.7 at 4am
and 2.7 at 6:50am
followed all the pump corrections except the one at 4am -- it suggested 7.65u and I took 3.65u
glad i didn't take the full dose

@himtoo, do you change your pod every 2 or 3 days. I was chatting to a Omnipod user who has a high insulin usage and he changes his pod every 2 days.

I was a little low before bed (4.6) so had a small biscuit and woke to 5.9 this morning.

normally every 3 days ( i usually have between 8-18 units left on the 3rd morning but insulin usage was a bit high on day 2 due to being out for lunch and dinner ( and I think i under estimated the carbs badly for evening meal which could explain the 21.9 at bed )

7.2 last night and 7.8 this morning. Not impressed.

Waking glucose level was 4.3 no idea about going to bed yet it just past 10pm ... but yesterdays bedtime reading was 5.6

5.1 going to bed (7.2 20 minutes later & I had had lasagne 3 hours earlier with 6 u & the intention to split bolus, so took 2 units) 3 on waking

bed time at 11:40pm 4.2
awake 7:05am 12.6

4.2 mmol at bedtime , 5.5 mmol on waking.

bed time at 11:40pm 4.2
awake 7:05am 12.6

Mine was the other way around, 12 last night, 1 correction dose and 3.4 this morning ( I now know I forgot to weigh the Jacket potato last night)

i just can't seem to nail down my overnight dawn phenomenon
I get a string of 3 or 4 days in a row with good AM numbers then it all seems to head south ( or up as the case may be)
back to the basal drawing board tonight me thinks !!

Going to bed at 4.2 is a bit too low @himtoo, maybe the Somogyi Effect took place last night.

Also take a note of what you eat the night before when you do wake with high morning bg levels, you'd be surprised which meals can effect bg levels several hours after eating, just maybe you might see a pattern develop where you eat a certain meal and wake with high bg levels the next morning.

I was 6.6 before bed and woke to 6.1 this morning.

thanks for that @noblehead.( the following hopefully shows that great minds think alike )

on that 4.2 before bed I did have 10 grams fast acting carb too .
i am currently using the 24 hour daily insulin pumping log provided by my DSN and all activity ( basal rates , carbs , liquids , bolus doses , exercise , corrections ) gets recorded.
I am continually on the look out for any patterns over this last 5 months of pumping

Good luck, diabetes is a pain in the derrière at times
