Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

5.1 , lowest today 4.1 up to 4.8 pre tea.. Just dropped post tea to 3.8 so not good on that front...
Glad not like last weekend needing ambulance due to hyper or like Friday with 2 separate occlusions and **** in 12 hours..
Glad to have a lower day for once after having 4 blocked up sets/tubes/change of pump/change od tubes/cannulas in 7 days... Without including the chronic day on Friday that nurse/Accuchek not yet aware of. Had to have 3 set changes yesterday as well. No set change today necessary and levels nicely low today too. May be tempting kismet though by writing this...

Was 4.6 at 23.41 but raised to 16.7 duting night... But another set change and double sized bolus brought down to the 5.1...and therafter scans been 4.7, 4.2, 4.6, 4.7, 4.1, 4.6, 4.8, 4.4 then the dratted 3.8 (forgot to eat my miniscule food until 50 mins after bolus though...) so not suprised....

Fed up with occlusions back on Accuchhek pump though compared to none on the disliked 640g.. Accuchek aware of my problems up till Friday morning though...

4.4 at bedtime 5.7 in the am. Was on holiday last week and somehow managed to keep some semblance of control.
 
4.7 at about half 9, decided to try and be clever and had one round of toast (11g carbs) and 1 unit so slightly under injecting for it.

3.9 before bed so 3 glucose (expecting the toast to go in later and be higj but not wanting to risk it) - went to sleep

2.8 this morning, metal note. Don't try to be clever!

Did you have anything to treat your low blood sugar before you went to sleep? If not, and you had been stacking correction doses in the evening you might have gone hypo overnight and this could have forced a liver dump to push you up.

You might be over correcting and not treating your hypos because you hate the idea of going high. But that's not going to help achieve stability in your blood sugar - it will just create yo yo blood sugar. I would suggest stopping, taking a breath and trying to tackle it strategically one step at a time. Realise you aren't going to achieve perfect blood sugar today, but if you can calm down, stop "rage bolusing" let your blood sugar settle a tiny bit and then start off with a basal test, you might achieve levels you are more comfortable with (no ones ever perfect!)

3am: 8.6 (I had eaten really late and had post exercise hypo treatment, so I was a bit swingy yesterday) 0.75 correction and I knocked up my TBR 30% for a couple of hours
Waking: 4.9
 
6.2 last night, 4.2 upon awakening. On Levemir, 30 units 2x per day, Metformin 1000 mg 2x daily. Type 1.5 or LADA diagnosis, May 3016.

When you bolus to correct high blood sugar, rather than with food. Although you can add a correction on to your food insulin too, if you have high blood sugar prior to eating.
