Congratulations on getting an early upgrade for the pod next week. You will be lost with doing no jabs everyday.Only the eight injections so far today, 92% in range (4-7mmol), so I count that as a win.
What I’m less impressed with is finding two of my cats shredding (and stuffing their faces with) a pigeon on my stairs, as I came down from filling the chests of drawers I was building last week from the contents of my floordrobe, hanging a mirror and wiring up a new light... the other beastling was patiently waiting for me to open a can of non-pigeon flavoured cat food.
Wine is now happening.
Edit - ten injections.
Afternoon all, very late on parade today... took my elderly friend Mad Jean to Ikea and other Cardiffian horror sheds. I also had a nice flat line overnight, so of course had to screenshot it for posterity

Anyway... was chuckling at the robot toys with Mad Jean as she said I’d be one soon when my phone rang, and it was the Diabetes clinic at my local hospital - I’m getting my Omnipod next Thursday! Think I’ll try to find some cuddly moneybag toys to pose with, perhaps the bank will phone to offer me some cash...

congratulations <3
Morning,
Managed 1 of 4 family celebrations without binging on carbs and mostly staying in range.
I have weddings and a birthday party to come...
How do people cope with ‘food pushers’? I have lots of them in my family. They just don’t understand the need for me to pre-bolus.

Yeah, about that. I’m not actually a natural purple. So wasn’t out in full plumage today...
Many years ago I recall staying in a Youth Hostel in rural Tasmania. The rooms were on the first floor either side of a long corridor. The fire escape sign pointed towards the far end of the corridor. At the corridor end was a door with a coiled rope on the floor, with the sign, "In case of fire use rope"Feel you pain (if I had the capacity to take more!) when we last moved our buyers threw up a stink that there wasn't a fire escape out of a bedroom window on the second floor because of the conservatory...........by law all second floor rooms should have a safe alternative fire route ie not on to a conservatory glass roof! this 'stink' came from the buyer via their solicitor to our solicitor and then to us - they were adamant we had to put in a fire escape...........I tired to put it as plainly as possible to all so they could all understand the concept that the house had a ground floor and a first floor but NO second floor ! It was a standard downstairs upstairs 3/4 bed semi.........it was embarrassing but not for me!
Ha! Sounds like DP is an airliner due to land at X hours !Now 7.6 after DP jab. Nearly forgot to check DP’s arrival time.
Hi @slip, Sometimes, squeezing the finger after the finger prick to get extra blood causes fluid in the tissues to be squeezed out, mix with the blood and dilute it down the sample giving a falsely low BSL result. I always re-check well out of range results for this reason. Thanks @alphabeta you posting a number got me thinking about my scores last night and this morning and thinking why am I feeling low as I was 13.3 before breakfast, went to dose for my brekkie and obviously a correction was involved, the bolus calculator suggested 6u for 40g of carbs plus 5u for the correction, 4hrs later I'm 2.7................whats even worse is that 11u dose, because I couldn't be bothered to change the cartridge, ran out at 10u - I was thinking at the time big deal I was only 1u short, its hot today so probably a good idea anyway.........thank god in retrospect!
Always look on the bright side of life .....Hard luck there, but on the other hand only 4 seconds slower with a higher blood's very good going as you're fractions of a second per length slower only! Always look for the positives
Not sure if he is or was more of a “Green onions “ man
Always look on the bright side of life .....
I always remember one lad who it not like pumpkin for some reason He would say that he was allergic to it and that stopped the food push straight off !! Also also heard of the term, applied to teenagers, of 'legume anorexia', to do with their dislike of veggies. Perhaps the fancy quasi-medical term might work : No. please I could not possibly, I have pavlova anorexia !!It depends whether I want what is being pushed.
If I do, I bolus in front of them and then eat straight away.
It is not always possible to pre-bolus. For example, if I am eating out (or round family and friends), I don’t know how much to bolus until i see the food and there is no way I am going to stare at my food for 30 minutes whilst everyone tucks into theirs.
It is only with the advent of Libre that we have become of the short term spikes from mistimed pre bolus and there are some 50+ years people with diabetes who are still going and they never had today’s technology for the first 30/40 years.
As long as I usually pre-bolus, I don’t stress.
If I don’t want what is being pushed, diabetes makes a good, polite reason to decline.

Guys brace yourselves! we all know how the alignment of the planets affect our T1D...........this could be our Armageddon!
I can’t actually dye mine any more due to an acquired allergy to hair dye, but I do have an assortment of wigs and clip in felt dreads that I adorn my otherwise thin, lifeless and mousy brown hair withMy adult daughter has always had colours in her hair, on Thursday she had a platt with green in it, but it has been all colours and dreadlocks too, loads of piercings and tattoo's too. I don't do any of that, nor does her father, my Ex ! But I do like to see other's with dyed hair, some lovely blues and pinks out there, so expressive
Love the patter of rain on a roof, just not any drips from leaks !! Just wait until you have your pump up and running @Mel dCP.Morning all! Steady night but DP has pushed me into the nines. Got a couple of units on board to deal with that. Best bit was being woken up by torrential rain!
