Most of my sensors the difference between finger test and Libre has been negligible. This new sensor is slightly out and is always showing higher than finger test.

I think you would always go with finger test if in any doubt and treat accordingly

Talking of treating when do you guys start to treat a low BG. I find if I go below 4 I will treat, without thinking really. have had too many bad experiences with hypos and I am very wary of them. Would prefer to run slightly high by treating a hypo

I am cutting back on carbs and find that due to 37 years of normal carb eating and being stuck in a rut of taking 3 injections a day irrespective, I am still taking too much insulin. I feel "guilty" if I only take a small dose and I am perhaps overdoing it. This of course results in lowish BG at times. I am trying to stay near the 5.5 mark, but for 37 years have always been around 8.5 and this is a real learning curve. The Libre I have to say has helped no end

How do you treat your hypos. I hear of people taking 3/4 jelly beans and being OK. Me I take around 8/10 and at times nothing happens for 10/15 mins and I am still dropping. So take another handful and of course 2 hours later I am in double figures

Jelly Babies (forgot first time)
Glugo tabs, raspberry ones.
TimeOut biscuits.

Drifter biscuits.
Jam butty.
Cake.
Any chocolate that is close to hand.

But the top three are the main ones I use.

It depends on the direction of travel as to when I treat - if I’m at 4.5 and falling, I’ll put my pump onto half power for 30 minutes. If I’m at 4 and falling, I’ll do that and take a single 3g dextrose tablet. Kind of all depends on how much insulin I’m wearing, whether I’ve eaten (and what), how hot it is, what I’m doing, I’m sort of winging it. I never take more than 3 at a time, maybe another two after ten minutes if nothing is moving. Libre is great to help you pin down this stuff - have you read “Sugar Surfing”? It’s fantastic for working out what works for you. Amazon link: https://amzn.to/2rlRAqf - annoyingly it’s Kindle only in the U.K., but I got so much from it I’ve got an American mate to buy me a copy there and ship it to me.
 

I am relatively new to this Etch A Sketch malarky but I find it interesting to use and it has certainly changed the way I inject I am now injecting smaller amounts than I used to and split insulins which has certainly helped cut down on the night hypos. I still run low but that is my preference.

The first three sensors I had have all been on the inside of my upper arm, just below the biceps and overtime I have removed them I have found that they leave a mark and a slight raise bit, which after a couple of days calms down and fades.

I think that in these positions the needle is into or certainly very close to blood supply, so I have found that bloods and Libre were very close only difference being 0.1 - 0.5 or 1 at the most.

However in those positions when the sensor was nearing its 14 day ending the sticky thing holding it on was beginning to slowly come away. Not from the main under part of the sensor as it was still held in place.

I think this might be down to the skin around this area gets more stretched and used especially if you in the gym doing weights.

Now I have moved the sensor to the back of the arm, as in the instructions, I am finding there is certainly more of a difference between the bloods and Etch A Sketch and have now worked out that the difference is roughly 2 - 2.5 (but I need more checks) if it stays like this then I will scan and add two to what ever reading I get. Should be close enough

I also use the mobile app and it good for making notes so I add in bloods as well, same with MySugr too. As others have pointed out it is good for "trends" and especially useful when in the gym, go in high do work out and check every 20 minutes or so, when I reach 4.8 arrow pointing down, I bail and go home.

As a side note Mrs K is cooking Curry and the smell is delightful
 
Thai takeaway. Tofu jungle curry for me, chicken noodle soup for child and holy basil chicken for hubby.
I had a very excellent cauliflower & broccoli (goat) cheese that I found in the freezer. And some distinctly **** fake bacon. And then I made kale crisps. Considering retiring to bed with my goblet of wine and some 100% chocolate to read my book in peace. Boys watching a loud fillum.

Oh, BG levels been green over 80% of the day, but nothing over 8, so I’m extremely happy with that. Still loving the Omnipod eight days in!
 
Bowling went well. Had burger and chips, slight over calculation and was just on a 3.9, so a crunchie for a snack before bed.

My first 'rained off' day in a while so I cracked on with the house clearance, lost track of the time and dropped to 3.3, corrected that and spiked to a 10 before levelling, another supermarket mousaka for two for tea, with rice and steamed veg, 110g carbs & 4u Humalog, weekend treat and I'll have the other half of the chilli tomorrow when I have the little un as she'll want a take away.

The car's got a successful skip trip under its belt, I took the back seats out and got loads in with a mattress lashed to the roof rack, our council charges for vans and you need a trailer permit for a trailer so this is cool

It depends on the hypo. Now I have Freestyle Libre I can spot them earlier.

A serious hypo gets wine gums, the number depends on how low, and how fast it's falling

If it's just slipped below I'll often correct with fruit
