Thanks your your response and thoughts.
Unfortunately, my randomness is all the time - it could be before dinner, it could be at the gym (when your wandering filament makes sense), it could be at my desk at work, it could be in the middle of the night.
I have tried multiple scans in 10 - 20 minutes and they are all in the same ballpark as each other but playing a different game to finger pricks.

It's a puzzle. I was going to suggest calibration might sort it, but I recall you found dexcom sketchy too.

Haven't used glimp myself but it's got a calibration feature, so maybe worth seeing if that sorts it any. I remember some articles saying it killed sensors from time to time but others reckoned it was a too powerful nfc reader in the phone. I think it can be used at any time after activation so I'd probably test it on the last day or two of the 14 days.

So last nights Mexican ended with a 10.something before bed, not bad..........until the 15 this morning - hey ho. So usual breakfast with correction, late morning, I’ve been on the sofa all morning because of my pains - which do appear to be reducing slightly, (also can’t put the book I’m currently reading down! Time just disappears!) get up and feel really low, when you know glucotabs first and then test low! And it was!

Lunch was 6.3 so didn’t overcorrect! :)

Good to see you, @BrixtonType1 & @wildtoast :)

I’m late to the party today, may have something to do with the bottle of wine I quaffed last night... :smug: a bottle of dry rosé doesn’t affect my levels at all, I reckon the alcohol balances the carbs perfectly over the course of the evening, so I don’t inject or take extra snacks for it. Spirits get a bit messy and I can guarantee a morning hypo if I get a bit enthusiastic on the rum.

Been out and about getting a puncture repaired (2” nail :banghead:) and a new collar, tag etc for one of our cats. B*ll*cks (big, old, idiot black tom) came home last night wearing a silver glittery collar - someone has taken off his admittedly scruffy black leather one, but put the massive 1” bell he wears on the new one, but not his name tag. So we think someone is trying to appropriate him. So he is now sporting a bright red studded leather collar with a “do not feed” tag, much more suitable for a biker’s cat ;)

:borg: MelBot T1000 update: Etch-a-Sketch has me 90% SIG, (I adore Captain Scarlet, @Knikki ) for yesterday, and 93% so far today, I absolutely love this pump thing. It’s doing exactly the job I got it for - to squash the dawn phenomenon and deal with my monthly insulin resistance. :borg:

Excellent Mel, so glad the pump seems to being doing the business for you. I have to see the DSN is September about possibly getting a pump, though it will be Medtronic 640. I am fairly sceptical about pumps so its good to get personal feedback on pump, from a user both good and bad

My blood sugar has behaved itself this afternoon. I took a walk to Argos to buy something, and ate a cereal bar to keep it from going too low. It stayed in the 4s for the whole trip, even when I walked up a nice steep hill on the way home.

It started to climb a bit when I got back, but a bit more physical activity nipped that in the bud.

So if nothing goes wrong now, when I eat, I might make it to midnight without going above target.

It's back to being reasonably predictable, so if I make some sensible decisions I might get there.

Talking (or writing?) of Libre, I've been starting to wonder if I have been doing anything wrong.
I trialled the Libre about 18 months ago, found it inaccurate in an unpredictable way so gave up with it.
I then tried the DexCom G4 (it links with my pump) which was a little more accurate but I found abdominal exercises reduced its lifespan so gave up with that.

Fast forward to this thread where lots of you guys (who seem to know what you are talking about so have gained my respect) use the Libre so I decided to try again.
My plan is not to use it to correct but just to spot trends and tweak my basal.
But again, it is unpredictably inaccurate compared to finger pricks. My finger says 5.6 but Libre says 9.2 and going up, finger says 4.9 and Libre says 2.9 (and level), etc.

I have positioned it on the back of my left upper arm. It doesn't (yet) irritate.
I have been using it for 9 days during which it has got neither more nor less accurate.
I am using the LibreLink app.

I know the Libre is about 15 minutes behind the finger (so to say) but when I am not eating or exercising, I don't expect my BG to change that quickly ... and not in the opposite direction to the arrow.

Dear trusted, respected regular Libre users, is there anything I have done wrong which is causing these regular weird readings?

You might have got a duff one - get in touch with Abbott, tell them the inconsistency and differences, they’ replace it.

Evening.

Was going to go to the gym this morning so sort of did not stick a whole pile of insulin in, then talking to my OH and

off I went and did something completely different.

So bit of a rollercoaster day for me.

However up until about half an hour ago the difference between Etch A Sketch and bloods was 2, now it is within a nat's nads of the same reading :shifty:

Anyway, back to blowing up stuff in the universe split dosage for the trip to Mercury and plenty of cucumber sandwiches and lashings of ginger ale packed of the trip. :wideyed:

(As a translation Chicken kievs and Destiny the video game :hilarious:)

Had a lovely and exhausting time for the last few days with the younger daughter and family staying - but how the heck did I keep going when our two were young, pre libre, with occasional visits to hypoland?

Morning, got up this morning on a 2.7 :banghead:I had no idea, even though last night, before bed, it was a wonderful 6.8  Cooking a roast chicken later and I made jelly and fruit last night, first time in ages I have had a proper roast dinner :hungry: not sure what the day will bring, but sitting here quietly waiting ( with a cup of tea) for a higher number. Happy Sunday to you all :)
ps daughter said last night rain is forecast today

Morning y'all, a waking 8.8 for me, little one's still in bed asleep so I'm having a read of the interweb until she rises :) , I think we'll go door knocking for a few unpaid window bills as folk enjoy being knocked up on a Sunday morning nearly as much as I enjoy collecting at that time :p then we'll have a lunchtime swim.

Midday to 3 pm kite fly. The sea air, relaxation and waking about (and jaw-wagging) burn up the calories and sugar.
One kite got stuck in a large pine, necessitating one person parking his van next to the tree, ladder on top, up ladder, climb the branches, detach all bridle lines and free the kite from the grasping tree. Comedy at its finest !!
Rain stopped 'play' at 3 pm, so nice slow drive home. Another month to do the next bit of kite repairs and designing.
Saying of the day: In space and kite flying there is no such thing as a free launch.

Morning,

Blood sugar wasn't too bad last night, dipped a little low, I pushed it back up a bit with a plum, as I'm out of picota cherries. Next time I checked it was in the 5s, and stayed around there for the rest of the night, which is great.

Now, if I continue this strategy of not doing anything to upset it, everything will be great. If only I knew what upset it.

Going out into town with my friend for lunch and a natter :)

And the child finally rises, funny stuff insulin, I've been chilling wih a coffee watching a spike from the first course of my breakfast, the first I've had since the move to Tresiba which I've reduced by 2u over the last 2 weeks, the extra 2u seems to have me slope down thru the night with an 8am dip, 1u less the same but not as much and now I'm sloping up and the bolus isn't working as well as I'd reduced that by .5u too.

I'm not moaning, but musing as it's a lot flatter line :) whether it's where I want it or not
