Type 1'stars R Us

Too many hypos this afternoon. Half a bag of haribos, want up to 6 and back down again. Had loads more, ate dinner with 3 units and now at 13 not budging. Going to bed and my honeymooning pancreas can help out a bit!
 
A mild hypo for me this evening whilst under the car, a misjudgement on my bolus for tea due to the cycling I'd done, my simple suspected fuel pump failure was hopelessly wrong, the cylinder head is blown, looks cheaper (and quicker) to get a second hand engine and chuck that in compared with fitting a gasket & timing belt kit, having the head skimmed probably and a new head bolt set.

The timing's not ideal and when I reached 50 I said I was done with ,messing with cars on my driveway but at least I'll not have to scrub my hands to blood test

Steady 7.5 that'll allow me a Weetabix with semi skim milk for supper....Have a good night y'all (my favourite Americanism)
 
Just had to take my libre sensor off arms in bulk for months i have had no problems now all of a sudden they are making my arms awful sore all lumpy and bumpy and really red and sore i have been self funding but im due to get them on prescription in the next couple of weeks wats the odds get them for free and probably wont be able to use them
 
**** what a nuisance. It does appear to be a problem that occurs for some users. There has been a few posts started about this sudden reaction as it were.
 
Morning all.
Blood test for 6 monthly check up next week to start the day off. Hopefully get there early doors. Only risk there is the phlebo is still half asleep, grumpy and unable to hit a barn door with a shotgun.
A good night with a pleasant BG on rising. The day can only get better and better.
Sunshine looks nice out, gonna have to put some slap ( sun tan lotion ) on my rapidly balding head.

I know there is also a facebook page dedicated ti just that .ive spoke to abbot and asked if they had changed the sticky on them but they said no just seems funny that all of a sudden loads of people getting reactiins
 
I found this a while ago, after googling. The article saysthe ingredient causing the problem is isobornyl acrylate, people don't start with an allergy to it, but develop a sensitivity after using it for a while.

It's a bit of a nuisance. It says more cooperation with the manufacturers is needed, so making Abbott's aware that you have this problem would be helpful, as it forces them to look at ways to solve the problem. I haven't had this problem yet, myself, but I suspect it's a matter of time, which is really annoying, because it's so useful.

Good morning y'all, the Libre said 4.4 on waking, 3.6 ten minutes later even though a blood test says 4.6, which is frustrating but I'm ok 10 minute pre bolus & a nice bowl of porridge.

X2 for putting some slap on the already balded head and a bit more on the ears, but it's winter where I struggle, my hat doesn't stay on post shave for a couple of days until there's some stubble for it to 'velcro' to which can be fun in the wind on the top of a ladder...

Morning all, 6.6 which suits me as just the beginning of the DP/foot on the floor, whatever.
Sunny and busy day ahead. I want some of my grandsons’ energy, but they can keep the primary school uniform (I don’t look good in shorts) and the asphalt playtime (I prefer grass, flowers, growing veg and trees).
 
Morning, went to bed on a very high high , took 2 units of correction and it was down to 6.0 this morning, thank goodness. Dealing with personal stuff can really take it's toll on our lives.

Had a good evening yesterday BG wise, was in the 5's when I left work, still in the 5's for supper, 4.6 before bed - didn't have a topup as I'd had pasta and was expecting it to rise anyway, and it did. 10.something this morning

The head wound is healing thank you very much.
It turns out the section of my forehead removed by my Skoda Yeti tailgate is actually still adhered to the inside edge.
It's made for some " interesting " comments from the people I've shown it to. ( warped sense of humour)
Not a bad day for you yesterday it would seem, hopefully today will follow a similar trend.

Blood test done, phlebotomist was top notch. Still can't fathom out why they say " little scratch ." It feels nothing like a. little scratch.

Wife at dentist for a filling soon and she insists she is still up for our Friday lunch out. We'll see how it goes.
 
Good morning.

Went to bed @ 22:30 last night, just before had to eat biscuits, due to a ratio miscalculation.
Didn't bother to get up and correct, i really needed to sleep.
Woke up @ 7.30 with a 12.7 corrected with 8u NR

I also have my annual check up in a couple of weeks , so i will see if this extra effort has translated into a lower average BG
 
Morning all! Not having a good diabetes day already! Went to bed on an okayish 7.3 and woke at 0547 with it at 9.6 with the graph showing me in the 12s beforehand. No idea why. Corrected and woke on 6.7. Took my usual foot on the floor dose and now its 4.o and falling. So maybe I shouldn’t have taken that... It’s the constant trying to predict what’s going to happen and trying to preempt it that I have problems with.

Driving to London this afternoon for a big march tomorrow, via Oxford to drop my son with his dad for the weekend. Hoping it’s not too hot in central London, that plays havoc with my BG.

@kev-w what car is it that’s causing you all the problems?
 
I had a sneaking suspicion my Nexus meter (that was foisted on me by my GP surgery because the strips are the cheapest) was a piece of unreliable sh*t. Scans and Libre meter blood test both concur in the mid 7s, blood test on the Nexus is 2mmol lower. Clean hands, blood from the same hole in my finger.

That’s a big difference. I correct in the 7s.

I often expect a scan and a blood test to differ because of the lag, but two blood tests to differ by this much just ain’t on.

 
Strips are nowhere near as reliable as they're made out to be, perhaps on average more accurate than a CGM/FGM but it is absurd how strips are preferred to scans for things like driving when neither is anywhere close to 100% accurate or fail safe.

I have cataract in right eye which is impairing vision so needs to be removed plus a smaller one in left eye
