How disappointing - used to be you could always get mints and soft centre chocolates. As well as assorted branded junk...@Diakat looks as if the "sugar is bad" message is getting through to the techy industry. I have not seen any sweets on stands. Plenty of t shirts, baseball caps, socks and other tat but nothing sweet.
Following yesterday's lows (which I carefully did not over treat but turned down my pump), my BG decided to rebel again overnight and shoot up to 14mmol/l. Following my own advice, I double checked with a finger prick. I did not check for ketones because I was feeling ok
Good question, I've never done one either in over 30 years of T1. I'm on the second part of the course about T1 and exercise tomorrow and one of the people running it is a consultant; if I remember I'll see if he has a view, I'd like to know as well.A question not necessarily aimed at you, but has been wandering around at the back of my mind for a big - checking ketones. I've never done this, though I have had highs where the meter has said "CHK KET" many times over the years. I've treated the highs with insulin as normal and watched them come down. What would I do with a ketone test?

Thanks @becca59. The course isn't likely to as its focus is purely managing T1 and exercise. My DAFNE course was so long ago.......if my memory was good enough I'd know whether or not they mentioned ketonesKetones were part of our DAFNE course. All in conjunction with being ill. Ketones when having a high peak after eating will be there but go down when the level goes down as you would expect. The problem comes with illness and consistent high sugar levels. Ketones should then be checked and will dictate how much extra insulin you should take and how often. All part of the very important sick day rules. Am sure your course will cover this.
