I bought my first ever Celeriac at weekend just to try it, so good timing with your post @helensaramay

So come on folks apart from throw it away what should i do with it, dont be rude!!!!!

Have to agree with you on the celery front. THE most awful taste known to man and or woman.
Celeriac tip. Basically you need to put it in an oven until burnt black, add a suitable dressing ( mayonnaise) and serve on a bed of desiccated coconut ( dandruff of the devil ).
At this point take a picture and post it on Facebook/ rate my plate. This way at least some people will get enjoyment from your unloved celeriac.

Evening all.

Well I think my graph today goes from Everest to the Marina Trench and yes I did crash the Etch A Sketch said LO but bloods said 3.0 so all in all not to bad.

Still flying butt monkeys really.

As for cleric, or what ever it is called didn't the show Allo Allo have a good idea what to do with it?

Just to be awkward I love celery and celeriac. Celeriac chips, mash, roasties, grated and fried up with cauliflower rice in coconut oil. Yum! I know, I know, I’m weird! Very rarely eat spuds these days.

Swop it - it’ll hang on to its flavour like a bulldog gripping a trouser leg til you give it to someone else! I love celeriac - grated, made into soup, in a stew, but I’m probably too far from you. If nobody else wants it you could carve it into an ashtray?

Same here with my etch-a-sketch... around 14 most of the day just down to 6.4 now. Put my cannula in the top of my leg Saturday night....thinking I am going to do a set change this evening back onto my belly...

That's quite a big bag... Manhattan is nearly 60 km2..

He’s a big cat - 6.7 kilos, a k for a square k x 10
.
His temp was raised, and bloods showed infection and, wait for it, bs 14.2!!! But could have been adrenaline and fighting infection. Meds bought, tests done, and a bill worth a return flight to Acapulco on a wet day. Or to any pre-29March EU city. AND he pooed in his new carrier. Cat! But he’s a much beloved rescue. Half way to a panther.

@helensaramay - I initially didn't even like the smell of celeriac, but like you ended up with not one, but 2 in error.

I lobbed one, cubed, into a strongly flavoured casserole - something like a chicken and chorizo, where it sort of got lost in the flavours, and the other went into a fridge clearing soup, then blitzed with a stick blender.

In both cases the flavours were overtaken by others.

One comment would be though, if you do add it to a casserole or the like, it does release some water in the cooking, so you may could want to take that into consideration.

I'm sort of OK with the beastie now, although it's wise to do the prep with a decent stiff knife.

Changed libre sensor today - didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped. Took three goes to start it, and once started, it was a flatline "LO". I gave up in the end and pulled it off, at which point it became obvious why it wasn't working - the needle bit was bent 90 degrees, probably not inside the skin at all. I'm slightly surprised it managed to get a LO reading.

New sensor now in and working. Another phone call to Abbot to come. I wonder how many sensors they expect to fail.

Morning all, not around much yesterday, @SueJB sorry to hear about your hideous experience, at least it's over now - and thanks for the info re hypo level. I've got an idea in the back of my head that I've heard it's because people without diabetes can have bg that low; certainly I can feel below 4 and I think a lot of others with diabetes can Agree with you @smc4761, if you want to define hypos one way yet still demand 5 to drive it's a bit out of whack.

Am living without Libre for a couple of days rather than risk it with an x-ray. Took my meter last night when I went out with a couple of friends for a meal and a movie. Testing just before eating, kept getting 'error' message until the last few strips in the drum ran out so no reading at all from anything. Fortunately I was the driver so I'd tested before we left and we were eating before the movie so I had an idea; got home at the end of the evening on a 6.7 with no mishaps in between thankfully. I don't know about others but in that situation I feel quite at a loss and pretty insecure. It's a bit like getting in the car to go to somewhere you've never been and no-one's given you directions. I suppose we used to manage with just pee sticks because we'd never known anything else; I realise how dependant I now am on, at the very least, a meter to guide me through. Bet if I had to guess my way through the day today it wouldn't be much fun!

Mornin’ teabags.
I spent a couple of years just guessing, @hh1, back in the day, in fact back in a great many days ago, when I couldn’t get the tablets for the pee tests. Having to rely on physical symptoms made me much more attuned to them and I sometimes worry that they don’t seem so important these days. Wouldn’t be without the libre though, now I’ve got it, even if it does tend to increase the amount of time spent watching and worrying about what graphs are being drawn.

Hi Helen, no to both. I think it might be just old age; it's an AccuCheck Mobile and I've had it for years. I've noticed that it quite frequently (maybe two or three times in a drum of 54 test strips) reports an error so it may be time to get on to them and ask for a replacement. And to be fair, its history includeds being dropped a couple of times, but last night's repeated errors were a new one.

Good morning all. Another low at the same time in the night (going thru jelly babies a lot now) sooo defo a reduction in the basal for tonight....starts to drop around 2.30ish so basal pattern for 1am will be slightly lowered. Fingers crossed lol Woke to a 5 which I was happy about BUT its gone upto 10 now,dam you Krave, tomorrow NO Krave cereal, think its the delayed carb release from the chocolate???
Same here, a LOT of times total guess work and most of it was miles out

Been a busy morning, just checking in quickly, lots to catch up on.

7.5 before bed last night, 6.1 before breakfast, 4.3 2.5hrs later
