I love the original version of The Thing, that giant carrot creature.
Will have to look out for that. Thanks for the info.Have you seen the 1982 remake with Kurt Russell, it's a good remake, graphic horror too ?

Morning my pancreatically challenged cums hope you are all having a good day.
One of the joys of being off work with the lurgy is I get to catch up on films I have been meaning to watch. Watched The General, with Buster Keaton yesterday, black and white silent movie from 1926. At the time the stunt at the end was the most expensive stunt ever made on film and indeed remained the most expensive silent movie stunt. Keaton at that time was also the best paid actor in the land.
His female star Marion Mack however was like many actress in those days who just seem to scream a lot, well you have to imagine and look all doe eyed at her male star. They would also do their own stunts back then none of this CGI nonsense or stunt doubles.
Me thinks I will go an watch another few old silent movies today, feeling poorly but nostalgic
Enjoy the rest of your day
Sooo, husband may (or may not) be about to lose his job. We should know more in a week or two. Wondering if he becomes house-husband I can train him to mow lawns, fill and empty dishwasher, manage washing and do child’s hair for school?
Thank you @Robinredbreast - actually I found that just posting it helped in an odd way, possibly facing the reality? Anyway, as long as my job is there we’ll survive so it could be a lot worse even if it does happen. Just not a nice thing to face for anyone.Aawww, I hope it's, 'or may not'. I have been made redundant twice and it's not a nice feeling, so crossing everything for you, hubby and family x
A place for us type 1's to have a chat, post blood glucose numbers, some banter and a even a little whinge.
6.9 before dinner, which was a lovely gammon steak

Yum yum. Did you have an egg or a pineaplle slice with it?
Like egg. But i also like charred/ grilled fresh pineapple slice. Maybe i'll try both as a gammon cocktail on my birthdayHi I'm sure it was an egg
Night chaps x
Shiver me timbers! Touching wood again @Knikki ! I mangle up sayings sometimes so: There is a silver cloud in every air bag !!Thought that was a type of pasta
@Diakat been made redundant and sacked from a fair few jobs in my time, first time is always a bit of a blow, but you just get up dust your self down and sort something out. There is always a silver lining to every cloud.
Evening, not much to report and after the other weeks of horrendous control I now seem to be in the green and level for most of the time, saying that I'm touching every bit of wood nearby as a good luck charm.
Probably the chemicals that help inflation. Death by crash or later death by cancer from breathing them in?Shiver me timbers! Touching wood again @Knikki ! I mangle up sayings sometimes so: There is a silver cloud in every air bag !!
