Tonight’s dinner was mushroom and leek risotto. Hopefully, a combo bolus will avoid the spike as I am likely to try it again. It was declared to be “the best risotto ever”. Unfortunately, it was one of those “make it up as I go along” type of recipes so repetition may take some trial and error.

Well Hamish has had a tough day, he’s been made to go downstairs ‘properly’ quite a few times, has been for a long walk and carried some shopping back from the local. He’s moaning now and being told it’s all for his own good. It’s a lovely excuse to elevate him on a couple of cushions and take it easy before I go and cook. Think he needs a glass of secco to take the edge off

Today will be a quiet one because most countries are celebrating May Day with union marches and workers rights. Whereas, in the UK, we will wait until Monday before we strangle innocent poles with ribbons.

Talking of naming medical attachments, I have been thinking about my next pump. My current one has the original name Pumpy. I have decided to call the Medtrum one Patch for obvious reasons. If Patch does not work out and I end up with the Medtronic 640G, I shall call it Tubby. This is a combination of a mistyped Tubey and a reflection on its size relative to Patch.
