Big toenail is a little worse, so I did the on-line consult thing with my surgry (you can upload a pic) and one of the docs will ring me back (or email me) before 6.30 p.m. tomorrow. A darn sight easier than trying to phone in for an appointment I don't blame the surgery - a few years ago they used to have trainee GP's who were great - all keen and eager. These days it seems the young doctors don't want to be GP's .... Come to that they had more reception staff, and nurses. It all comes down to having loads more patients, less money and less time as a result. I feel sorry for them.

Aaaaand - a phone call in from the surgery calling me in to see the nurse practitioner on Friday afternoon. Amazing, but very reassuring.

@helensaramay I ticked like when I saw that you were to get your Libre, then they haven''t issued the prescription! Aaaargh!

My standing around doesn't really count as exercise, I don't think. Granted my feet and legs noticed it but I dunno about it being actual exercise.

It's not what you'd call joined-up care, is it? I suppose each of them thinks they are doing their best, but as a group exercise it doesn't pan out well........

Hi all, bg ok today despite it being a day when I'd planned to be outside and I've been rained off. I've done some cooking and some paperwork so feeling fairly virtuous.

@helensaramay there needs to be an 'I feel your pain' option after posts and if there were I'd have used it. That is sooooooo frustrating, fingers crossed you can pick it up Friday. There'd be no chance of that at my surgery; if I put in an online prescription I have to wait three days for it to be ready at the pharmacy.

I have had an offer of a permanent role as School Escort, up until the end of summer term, mid July I think it is, so 5 days a week. I have 2 hospital appointment in June,I told transport manager and she will get cover for those.
I'm so pleased

Woohoo, and maybe you can ask them to put you down for the same again in September.

The same thing happened at my surgery. I had to post them a copy and even though the Consultant’s secretary told me that there had to be a Contract between me and the CCG before the surgery prescribed it the Libre was immediately put on my list of meds. It was early days of Hamish and I didn’t find this out until I was able to move around well enough to sign up to IT communication, prescription request et al. Grrrr, but then most GP practices are struggling with workload these days.

Well, the creamy coconut garlic mushrooms are going on the rotation! I just ate a disgustingly huge portion with my dinner.

We settled on having trays on our laps so that I wasn't sitting opposite himself munching meat. Good compromise, but it's one of our skills (we have a good few not-skills, but we've been together long enough to have learned how to get along)

My mother, and himindoors’ parents lived in WSM, and yes, Dismaland is right!
Cromer? Whitby? Deal? Bournemouth? Broadstairs?

Evening friends,
I wanted to say diabetes has been okay, not better and not too bad, a tad improvement since being prescribed Tresiba but I'm still playing around with it. I'll give the pump route a further thinking, I'm still on "I might not need it after all" side. I still face the dangerous hypos with little to no symptoms, although I'm running between 4.6-10.5 most days with the occasional 11.5-16.0 because of food spikes or over treating hypos. In spite of this control, I'm still incredibly tired, little to no motivation, little to no sleep and sometimes incredibly hungry, I think that's my hormone monster talking but I feel no different compared to last week. I had a decent dinner, trimmed the fat off the meat, extra helping of veg, small dollop of rice cooked in korean sauce (8,000 scovilles) - 6.6 before that party began. Now I'm in food coma. I hope everyone has a nice evening

I've never tried lantus but reading information on it, yes I know and also more long acting compared to Levemir. I inject Tresiba in the early hours of the morning as well, it seems to be doing okay so far. (this is also to avoid the hormones making me go into double figures) It's longer lasting than levemir but not as long lasting as it's marketed at. I don't have the sensor to see if I'm doing okay during the night. But from the readings it seems okay, not too shabby. Touch wood that I'm not speaking too soon and go hyper or hypo later.

Does anyone think it's too late for a third iced coffee?

Like @Knikki, I prefer mine hot without ice, but I am just about to embark on my last caffeinated one of the day...

It's fair to say I wouldn't if I was at Main Paid Work tomorrow, starting at 8.30 a.m., with leaving the house at 7.10 a.m. and up at 5.45 a.m. but it's organist/music work and not starting until after lunch so if I don't sleep because I'm over-caffeinated it's not a problem.

Weston Super Mare? No idea what its like just always one of those place I should gone to but never been
I live about 13 miles from there and don’t visit very often although it is popular with tourists. I’ve rarely seen the sea in though because it goes out so far.

My brother and sister in law lived there and I went for a holiday in WSM decades ago, If my memory serves me right, there was a lovely village called Dunster ? Also WSM isn't far way from Cheddar Gorge
Cheddar is about 10 miles from WSM and is a nightmare in the summer. Dunster is on the way to Minehead and on the edge of Exmoor so is quite a bit further. Full of tea and souvenir shops these days.
