Didn’t they invent superglue as a skin repairer in the Vietnam war for mending soldiers in the field? I often use it on cuts, topped with insulating tape (or gaffer tale if it’s more serious!) - stings a bit but does the job.
It's a yes no answer to that. Superglue came about in 1942 when a chap at Kodak was messing with plastics to make a gun site. Did not work and later he dug the formula out again to use on aircraft canopies, again did not work. However he did notice that it was very good at sticking things together, which he did.

It was further developed into a spray to use on chest wounds to try and stop the bleeding (Vietnam war) but the FDA never gave its full approval (certainly for commercial use) because of the chemicals used cause skin irritation in combination with water.

I think these days there is a 'surgical superglue' again I think it would be used for really bad trauma where you would need to stop the patient from bleeding out.

If you do a quick Google you can find out more about it

I was told very specifically to only put it on the arm but I'm interested in where else people have had success with!

Fellow Libre users - come on and upset me, what are your time in target percentages like?

I'm slowly getting mine back to something I'm happy(ish) with, was away for 2 weeks then had another week where I couldn't seem to get off the rollercoaster!! Have drastically reduced my basal now though which seems to be helping.

Ooo, time in target - zooms about like the stock market. Today, above 36, in 50, below 14. Target set at 5-8. This libre’s 1.5 above BG so could be more below. A few jelly babies gone from the store.

Wow target set between 5-8.
My target is 4-10. I'm easily pleased.. Have to admit to not being a great lover of numbers, finances, stocks and shares, graphs, charts and mathematics. I think in the grand scheme of life I was designed for the more physical stuff.
Wanna a hole digging? I'm your man.
Want the kids and shopping carrying? I'm your man.

Hey mate. I sincerely hope you don't get someone with my sense of humour when you ask " where to place it?"
You've not tempted us with any culinary delights today as far as I can see.
Still thinking about bl**dy spag bog. Next meal out is gonna be Lasagne as it's the closest to spag bog you can get in most pubs.
Spikes'R' Us????????????

What a day ate breakfast gave half unìt less bolus 2 hrs later hypo same for dinner and same for tea i have had crisps and biscuits inbetween ive also took less basal foŕ 2 days you just cant win sometimes.went and watched the footy atmosphere was electric but never stayed out due to the lows

You’re on! I need someone to eradicate some brambles and flatten some anthills.

It’s the weather, probably! A little discussed side effect of global warming’s the increased phenomena of T1s sitting dazed in a sweaty heap: traffic, pedestrians and low-flying ghekkos will be issued with safety leaflets.

You seem to have had quite a few days like this.

Well let's just say if I get recommended to place the sensor where the sun don't shine, I shall be straight on here to let you know

Culinary delights? Well does just been out for a Chinese sit down count?

Tomorrow will be Curry
Monday, OH birthday, so might be another Spag bog or pizza, lasagna or spaghetti all'Amaticiana sounds good (ps not going to the local pub).

My Freestyle Libre has started messing me around. Or is it me just started messing my Freestyle Libre around?

For days my real blood sugar has been higher than the Libre results, and I just a did a small correction on the assumption that was the case, then I thought I'd do a proper blood test, and it was lower not higher. Oh well.

I can't quite adjust to that, I'd got comfy with that arrangement.

.

I've been running mine only for the last 3 weeks so just getting used to the data it collects and can tell you.
So looking at the readings over the last 30 days:
Target is set between 5-9 so far 45% on target
9-13 has been 28% really not happy about that
+13 has been 6% definitely not happy about that
3.9-4.9 has been 10% should be higher.
Less than 3.9 has been 11% bit Meh! Can deal with that.

Hmm think I need to sort things out. Plus this **** Etch A Sketch makes you almost obsessive about checking things.

I've had Freestyle Libre for about 3 months now. One of the things I first noticed was how it was easier to just coast along, during an afternoon, at in the 4s, which I just wouldn't have done before. While I was doing it I kept thinking about how much my cells might like this, and they would probably think they were in the wrong body, but they'd also be very pleased with having a nice rest. Soooo......I got a bit carried away, and two weeks ago I decided to have a day of not going above my target range, which I've set at 7.8 - 5.6, for no good reason, except the meter was already set to that. Then I decided to do another day, and another...........

So, I decided to zap it back down each time it edged up in that direction. I just got 2% above target for the last 7 days.

My favourite method of keeping it down is to go for a walk when the arrow points upwards and is past about 6.8.

I'm not sure I can keep it up, but it's been interesting.

BTW, @therower, I’m not a fan of statistics, etc., and definitely not of the stock market - it’s just a big casino. BG roulette anyone?

It's pneumonia that nearly killed me. I am so lucky to be alive and a special 17 year old person is going to getting a big treat, my brave girl
