Wow target set between 5-8.
My target is 4-10. I'm easily pleased.:):):). Have to admit to not being a great lover of numbers, finances, stocks and shares, graphs, charts and mathematics. I think in the grand scheme of life I was designed for the more physical stuff.
Wanna a hole digging? I'm your man.
Want the kids and shopping carrying? I'm your man.
4 - 10 here as well. Today it's been in target 44%. Highest 12 and lowest 2.8. Sat out the back with a rum and diet lemonade and sat at 3.8. Supper is going to be poached eggs on toast

In hospital I haven't been eating very much. When I was taken off the sliding scale I had a bit of a battle trying to get my diabetes teams that 'no ,I don't want cereal or gf toast for breakfast just a small piece of fruit or an Irish yogurt and that is what I like and it's keeps me going until lunchtime. TBH I wasn't well enough to back my corner.
But Mel mentioned hypo symptoms and it would appear I am not getting them. So an apppoitment has been made for me to discuss the next six weeks and also to help me aquire an GMC as I come under requirements now, lots of things going on at the moment, so starting to control things ............. but not the weather unfortunately.

My levels have been mostly good today, just a quick dip to 3.9 mid day and a spike of 12 for an hour after tea, tea was a best Mousaka for 2, or 700g of which 44 were carbs, 250g peri peri rice by tilda @ 60g carbs for the pack, and fresh veg, 5.5u usually covers that but I've had an extra 2.5u for the spike.

Regular exercise switches back on next week as I've not done much this last month and have put a couple of pounds on, but have drifted a little on my diet too and I need to quit salted peanuts, my Wednesday morning hangover lasted till Friday and I'm quite impressed by that as Tuesday night is a blank:)

Libre pains? I wore one that felt sore in the gym, in fact I've had 2 painful ones but one was a skin reaction leaving a blotchy rash but the gym one felt like something stuck in my arm, Somebody mentioned their reader leaving gaps? (think it was this thread) and when this happened to me I contacted Abbott who sent a replacement reader & sensor.

Regarding hypos, a question for the longer term T1s I guess but do you feel modern insulin hypos are 'milder' than the ones on the older insulins? comparing say some of the states I'd get into in my early days, paramedic fodder to be scraped up and glucagonned whilst using Humalin S compared now with a Humalog one and I've not needed a paramedic in 15 years, although thinking a bit more (now I've written this) could this be due to the availability of accurate blood testing equipment?

My levels are set at 4-7 on the Libre. I’m there 75% or so of the time except in shark week, when it’s less than 50% - just can’t keep it down. 13 correction doses so far today. As an experiment tomorrow, because I have no plans other than some light knitting, I’m going to not do my constant dribble of 0.5u NovoSluggish every hour or so and see what happens. The idea is to fat fast (if I get hungry to just have some coconut oil in coffee/marmite) so as to not cloud things with any foods that’ll raise my BG, and not correct. Most of the month I can do that and stay pretty level. I want the data to show my team that my gazillion small doses a day in this one week a month are what keeps me relatively level. Well, below 10, at least.

I think the testing equipment is better now compared to when human insulin was around. I have had 1 paramedic hypo in 3 years and probably 3 serious ones, lucky the misses now knows how to deal with them/me .
Just scanned now....5.5 so will do my basal and wish you all good night

Testing gear has improved in leaps and bounds over the years, partly driven by new tech but also by the rise in diabetes in the general population. Alas there is money to be made.

@kev-w As for hypos old human against this new stuff, to be honest, I really can't compare, hypos are hypos some are mild some are interesting, ( sometimes when I hypo I will profess my undying love for my OH other times I will be in deep discussion, with myself, about various points in history) sometimes they are bad. Everyone is different.

Because of the advances in bs metering tech, espically Libre etc, it should make it easier to head off hypos, saying that I had an "interesting" one last night but was just talking, hang man time, 8 letter word slang for male dangly bits :hilarious: and again out of range when I wake up :shifty:

@Mel dCP libre set to 4-7? I really admire the way you control your levels, hats off to you :)

Libre set at 4.5-9 and this one is insanely accurate. Hallelujah! Above-28% in-61% below-11%. Have eaten very low carb for the last few days and readings have been higher. Go figure! @Alison54321 going for a walk tends to raise my levels. Unfortunately the quickest way to get them down is vacuuming- I have lovely clean carpets!!!

Be interesting to see what happens with that.

Vacuum cleaners don't like me, they always break.

Many years ago I did my degree in Economics, so I learnt at an early age how to read graphs.

But managing diabetes is both an art, and a science, a massively important part of it is how it "feels". I'll have times when my blood sugar feels quite unstable, and days when it feels much more stable.

It's finding a way to combine using the data, as well as working with how we feel.

Good morning all.
Woke up below 10 which is good in my world:).
Just picked wife up from her 12 hr night shift at local hospital, asked her if she fancied a full English at a nearby marina. Chance to sit out on the waters edge and relax.
A resounding " YES" so that's the first part of the day sorted.
Pre bolus time;););).

Well done on the degree.
You are so right about management. I always find data important but there comes a point where I find it too much and it becomes counterproductive. It's finding that balance between usable data, past knowledge and that " gut " feeling.
It's good to see how everyone manages their diabetes using the data that's available these days.

Hangman time for that? Simple mate - it’s the name of my husband’s cat :D

And thank you. Not in range much at the moment, but I like a challenge!

Morning all! Woke up ready for my experiment - decided to deal with the DP as usual, so that doesn’t cloud things. Woke at 7 at 9.9, injected three units - that should be gone by 11:30, and then it’ll get interesting, I suspect. Currently 5.9 - I feel a graph coming on! Luckily my science background means I quite enjoy playing with data...

Good morning everyone, woke up at 4.8 this morning and very happy with that. Since then the DPs been slowly coming down from a rise to 7.9. 3u so far, twice the usual as it includes breakfast bolus. Waiting for the down arrow.
