All power to the Weetbix.@SueJB I'm sorry to read of your loss, blood sugars do get messed up at times like that so take care.
I had a lazier day than I planned, fairly stable till 7pm and a rapid Lanus drop (19 hours in) caught me out on as I had a late tea, 3.5 so I injected and ate and levelled off at 7 where I've stayed, but the bolus tail is yet to start so it's 2 Weetabix, bed and hope it doesn't spike.
Just repeat as you lay there: This is not "Apochalypse Now"Time for bed, and to lie under my ceiling fan at full Chinook helicopter power.
BG is 6.5mmol now, half a unit IOB still, so should level out around mid-fives in the next half hour or so. Thank you all so much for your advice and support during my little experiment today, really means a lot xxx
Sleep well, friends <3
Thank you @karen8967 for the cheery greeting . I slept until 11 am (Oz time) but do not tell anyone else. They will wish to do the same ! Enjoy your day and what you have learnt about pumps. As I said on another post: Would not a T shirt with "Insulin Pumper" on it be cool ??Good morning everyone
Ha ! ha ! Mondayitis is real !Goodnight sleep well everyoneView attachment 27497
I reckon they need to do surveys measuring ambient ward temperatures between hospitals and seeing if there is any correlation to infection rates (say after surgery) !!Why is it hospital wards always seem to be kept at about 300 degrees c! Working on them is hell never mind being a patient trying to get better.
I hope you're starting to feel much better and hope you'll get home asap!
The Aussie saying 'Hang ten' is a 'pure expression'. It relates to the surfer's stance on a surf board where all ten toes are gripping the front of the board. It is a rather daunting stance and so the expression is about maintaining one's resolve in the face of real or imagined danger or risk. No pet names at present though !!Hangman time for that? Simple mate - it’s the name of my husband’s cat
And thank you. Not in range much at the moment, but I like a challenge!
i find when im hoovering my levels start to drop quite rapidly its mad isnt it
It shows that hoovering is real work and should not be dismissed as somehow inferior to " a man's work "!! Dare them to swap any day !!The Aussie saying 'Hang ten' is a 'pure expression'. May the arrow direction always be in your favour !!Good morning everyone, woke up at 4.8 this morning and very happy with that. Since then the DPs been slowly coming down from a rise to 7.9. 3u so far, twice the usual as it includes breakfast bolus. Waiting for the down arrow.
Well done. Do you happen to renovate old sewing machines too ?My best car was the engine I'd taken from my old Mk 1 Trooper as I'd run out of chassis to weld toI bought a Vauxhall Frontera with a blown 2.3 engine and put my 2.8 engine in, finished it the day before my youngest was born and it lasted 5 years and did over 33k mikes ( https://www.fronteraowners.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=232 ) I'm willowkevin on that extremely long thread . I never got 'bikes' as in my younger days I rode a Vespa around the country
yeah. Kite flying !!!Goodmorning everyone enjoy whats left of the weekend
I think my old industrial sewing machine is circa 1970's. It has done many miles and given the repairs it has done it has probably saving 9 x as many stitches. It allows me to imagine miles of kite flying without moving from home !!@kev-w I’m also a “bottom feeder” when it comes to cars, currently rocking a 2002 Ford Focus while the husband is blaring around in a 2001 Nissan Micra. Still miss my ‘72 Land Rover, but it literally disintegrated...My bikes are pretty old too, can’t see the point in a new one!
It certainly would be cool i wish i could lie in but im in work been in since 6.45am i am gonna read up on all the different pumps for my next appointment im determined nowThank you @karen8967 for the cheery greeting . No rest for the wicked and even less for the righteous.!! There have been some good Qs and As on one pump brand vs another on the Pump forum. A rep is likely to skate over the disadvantages of the pump they are promoting where as a pump user will soon let you know what works and what sucks !! Happy comparing !!It certainly would be cool i wish i could lie in but im in work been in since 6.45am i am gonna read up on all the different pumps for my next appointment im determined now
Arh? Right it see it's shark week that throws you out of control, interesting, well hope all this does get you a pump.I want a pump so I can get better control during “shark week” without having to take fifteen billion injections. It’s a full time job, I would like to automate it! I have a life as well.... if it wasn’t for this particular week, I’d be happy to continue using MDI, tbh. But 25-30% of the time it requires such minute by minute micromanaging that I can’t effectively do anything else. Hopefully all this data will prove that I can a) use the data from my Libre effectively and have invested my own money in a MiaoMiao to get the maximum benefit from it; b) know how to use tiny doses of insulin to nudge my BG levels into line; c) am finally taking control of the flippin’ thing - they’ve already said I’ve got the best control I’ve ever had and can see how hard I’ve had to work to get that. But I can’t keep this up forever using injections. Today’s exercise shows what happens if I don’t constantly correct.
@Knikki - while my personal target is non-d levels, when all this is happening, I can’t even get NHS/NICE levels without stopping myself every thirty minutes!
@Scott-C - I don’t drink beer any more, that would just add another layer of difficulty!
Edit: down to 10.4 and feeling a lot better. Peaked at 17.1...

The challenge then is getting on the pump list. I leave that to the those in the UK and I think they are some recent threads involving Mel dCP about what 'evidence' helps.Arh? Right it see it's shark week that throws you out of control, interesting, well hope all this does get you a pump.
