Hi, I'm now eight days cigarette free. Never thought I'd manage but I'm doing great. I've now switch to vaping. I am on a low nicotine e liauid. Hope vaping is a short term aid in helping me quit smoking for good. What I'd like to know is .Does nicotine affect my diabetes? If so how? And will there be greater benefits from cutting out nicotine completely?

I was told 2 hours things. Nicotine promotes the production and f insulin. As T2 we do not need this.

Secondly cigarettes contain sugar.

Nuff said.

Besides all the cancers related to smoking, it also causes similar complications as diabetes, namely athersclerosis of the small arteries and neuropathies. Smoking speeds up the complications. Those are kind of long term problems. Immediately after smoking a cigarette it causes perpheral arteries to contract and that can cause oxygen deficiency in the tissues. Not so good if they are already stressed by diabetes.

That's why I gave up smoking and vaping (although damage has been done).
I am led to believe it's the nicotine specifically that causes many of the probems.
As far as I'm concerned it's best to pack in nicotine.
And as I've said before, if you're frightened enough, you'll make changes.

I dumped the fags 20 years ago and some days I could still light one up.

8 days is great..... But. If your vaping your not actually giving up yet. Better to vape than smoke.

BE prepared the cravings will come back. Typically around 14 to 20 days is hardest and the make or break point. If you stop vaping too.

You will find you end up vaping more than you smoked.

No way round you being better off without nicotine.

Good luck.
