Type 2 and wanting my 1st tattoo

Hey everyone,
I was told last year I was a type 2 diabetic on 4 x metformin a day. I was wondering if anyone could help me as I would like to get a tattoo for the first time but people tell me I cant due to be diabetic. Please would love some advice
 
I want one for my 40th later this year but the missus isn't keen.
I would be interested to know more about this too.

No harm in getting a tattoo done with diabetes ! Go for it ! You need to have as normal a life as poss ! It's not catching lol !

Clearly if it's poorly controlled that is slightly different. My point is not to wrap yourself in cotton wool and let diabetes control your life ! There are many, many tattooed diabetics walking around happily ! If you want one, go for it !

I just got my first two tattoos! I am 43 and type 2 - unstable.

So - got to a reputable tattooist who observes strict hygiene procedures. Pay close attention to the after care advice. Keep it clean - ie wash it at least 4 times a day. After the first few days use Bepanthan nappy creme to reduce irritation and moisturize.

type 2 and had 3 tattoos since diagnosis, having another in 3 weeks. keep them clean and moisturized with nappy cream and alls well

Please inform the tattooist that you are diabetic, and let them know your meds, if you are on aspirin it can interfere with the clotting process of your blood!

Was planning on telling them before i book in, Only on metformin (blood wise) thanks for advice

Type 1 got 10 and a half tats no probs but as I’ve said before they are addictive so 1 might not be enough ……enjoy
 
I’ve had all my tattoos since being diabetic, all have healed in the normal time frame.
