I was horrified when my doctor actually said she'd like to put them in the water.
I was told yesteday by a GP that all T2 diiabetics will end up on Statins eventually.
I've found this: http://www.medicine.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/booth/cardiac/statdiab.html and would be interested to know whether anyone can help with more information?
eg -When were you diagnosed,? what other medication do you take? how long before you took statins? any significant side effects / benefits?
Thanks T x
Useful reading on statins. American based but points out how drug companies are getting us over medicalised on flawed research. Draw your own conclusions

don't stop taking metformin, been proved to be very good for you in helping to prevent other diseases, ive been on them since 2000 and I never seem to get ill at all in any way, and I take a lot of other tablets aswell as insulin too ,I was taken off simvastatin because my doctor said id been on them long enough and he said its not good to be on them for the foreseeable future.I was told yesteday by a GP that all T2 diiabetics will end up on Statins eventually.
