I struggled with eating at work mainly. Instead of making a healthy lunch to take with me, I became lazy and when at work I'd go and get a Gregg's or even worst KFC!!! Since being back at the gym it has given me more motivation to eat correctly at work, hence either the MRP Shake, or an egg salad or similar. When you say "eating correctly" what does that entail for you. one man's "eating correctly" could well be the other man's poison..
Personally I'd cut out the shakes and eat some real food. Cold meats, salads , eggs, pork scratchings. Fatty things to keep you feeling fuller. As in the other thread.. work out fasted and drink lots of water.I struggled with eating at work mainly. Now I'm training between 5 and 7 times, and I'm looking at having a Intra BCAA+ drink during my workout, hence the question above.
Thanks for the advice, I am defo going to train fasted, and i always stay well hydrated.Personally I'd cut out the shakes and eat some real food. Cold meats, salads , eggs, pork scratchings. Fatty things to keep you feeling fuller. As in the other thread.. work out fasted and drink lots of water.
Thanks former the reply mate. The shake I'm taking is PhD Diet Whey, which is really low sugar and carbs. I'm only having 1 scoop and mixing with 500ml water instead of the instructed 175ml, to keep my water intake high. At the minute my BG is quite steady and lower than it had been, so I'm gonna keep at this for now. Thanks for the food suggestions though, a couple in their I didn't know about and enjoy.Jonny i use to take creatine powder drink as a weightlifter / strongman comps , im sure it was part of getting diabetes , but it gave me energy to lift and i use to lift big amounts ,i took energy drinks, protein drinks , creatine, and ate everything i wanted , biscuits, candy, cakes etc and i was strong as an ox until i got diabetes.
Fruit juices, mother energy, musami drinks i took all them everyday my weight became 190kg at one stage
If I was u i would skip the drinks ( too many chemicals and sugar) and concentrate on food , however there are other shakes for protein eggs milk shake etc you make yourself even with a banana if your allowed
Bacon is good protein and fat and great for diabetics , forget the bread though , salmon, tuna , chicken breasts, kidney beans , shiatsu mushrooms , boiled eggs ,( i use to take the yolk out ) turkey slices ,
Milk is great for protein too but many diabetics cant drink too much
See how your BSL is eating a banana a few hours before workout ,if its ok you can eat that to give u energy for the gym
When i was lifting a lot there was constant advertising for protein drinks, whey drinks , etc etc that u need these to become big or stronger ,i since found out they ruined my kidneys , and gave me diabetes
You will find with most weightlifters ,even some big bodybuilders that they can lift huge amounts but put them walking up a hill and they will be puffed out half way up
I went back to the gym recently and im concentrating more on treadmill cardio, bike etc rather than straight back to weights even though i done a bit the other day .
Up to you but i say stay off the shakes and just see how u go without them
Type 2 diabetes develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin or when the pancreas stops producing enough insulin. Exactly why this happens is unknown, although genetics and environmental factors, such as excess weight and inactivity, seem to be contributing factors. High cholesterol level can also lead Type 2 diabetes in addition to blood pressure, coronary heart disease, stroke, peripheral arterial disease, etc. For the maintenance of overall health it is important to consume right food like the one rich in fiber and also light workout must be done everyday as advised by Dr. Janet, health, nutrition and fitness expert in USA. One can also make use of daily diet tracker like Cholesterol Down app to help keep a record of everyday's meal.
