Type 2 diabetes - lactose intolerence - pancreatitis

Hi All

I have pancreatitis with lactose intolerance and a type 2 diabetes.

Currently taking a liquid form of Gillimpride diabetes medications. My diabetes has recently increase and have been advised that I require another diabetic medicine that should
be lactose free and that does not affect the pancres does anyone who is in my situation know of any drugs like this.

Hi @Geeta1945 and welcome to the forum.

If your healthcare team have advised you that you need more medication and that it has to be lactose free then they will have to find the appropriate medication. I am sure that there are other people who have this dilemma.
Even if we could advise you there is nobody here is qualified to do so.
I would say that you to ask them for the solution as it is not something that you can be expected to solve.

Do you need any help with your eating plan bearing in mind that you may have restrictions in what you can and cannot eat?

Thank you for your reply.

I have spoken to my Dr and to my healthcare team and they trying to find another medication.

My diet is ok at the moment but I am going to change a few food items and to see if that will control my diabetes.

I agree with everything Catherinecherub has said although not lactose intolerant I do not eat dairy products except yoghurt & eggs. So my diet is what you would expect as I am carb and sugar intolerant. I never struggle as I eat plenty of meat and salads. Have a look around and you will see there's plenty of recipes and good advice on here.
