When I was diagnosed it was for bloods taken as I had tingling in my fingers (turned out to be carpal tunnel syndrome) the doctors called me up to make an appointment ASAP. When I went in I was quiet anxious. The Dr had someone else in with her and broke the news to me like I was terminal. Proper doom and gloom. Pointed out all the bad stuff and mentioned reduced life expectancy. Felt terrible afterwards. I was 30 and diagnosed type 2. Think she was very melodramatic.
