I'm type 2 and my levels have gone up, my doing.
I've been fasting and low carbing, to get them back down.
but I find my sugar level rises if I don't eat anything.
Is this normal I thought if you didn't eat, then your sugar levels go down.
or is my body doing something to compensate.
Thank you.

Depends how full of sugar your body is.

If you have a lot of stored glucose the body will use any period of non eating to get rid of it.

What sort of levels are you seeing when you aren't eating that are causing concern?

When our bodies have no food, our liver will release glucose to give us the energy we need.
This is the cause of Dawn Phenomenon and high levels whilst fasting.

This happens to most people. Those with a healthy pancreas will release insulin. Alas we are not so privileged.
