Hi, in addition to type 2 diabetes I have multiple health issues including asthma, spinal problems and steroid induced adrenal insufficiency which means I have to take 10mg Prednisolone daily. During a recent chest infection I had to increase to 60mg daily. Prior to spinal injections of steroids my glucose level was discovered to be 19.9 - I have always managed it with diet previously.
I have been taking Humulin I now each morning since 1st December 2018 and steroids are back to 10mg.
I would appreciate any advice on coordinating the injection with when I take the Prednisolone so they peak at the same time as I haven't got it right yet.

Hi Pambish

I am in a similar situation to you in as much as I have been on prednisone now for over a year. Thankfully I am in the process of reducing it albeit slowly. I am also on Humulin I.

I would suggest you speak with your DSN for some guidance. The way it was managed for me was not to do with timing of steroids and insulin but to increase the Humulin I Also a shorting acting insulin was introduced

This may not be the way to go for you so please seek some guidance.

It is extremely frustrating that the steroids which are essential for you are causing other problems.
