Type 2 Life

Will try! Do you mean no main evening meal at all, just snacks?
Have breakfast lunch and evening meal but nibble 20mins before gym and dressing for gym then test after 2 hours after nibbles. After the 2 hour test you might need to nibble again to stop overnight liver dump.
Your body is increasing bgs because it's thinking it's in starvation mode maybe?
Leaving long periods between food.
This theory only works on lchf.
I wouldn't have a clue if carbs were involved.
Non-diabetic athletes might.

Yes thank you William, had a lovely time with my lovely sister. She was asking lots of questions about lchf for her diabetic patients. I was VERY naughty and ate a muffin with my coffee. It tasted fabulous ! Back to low carb now though. Managed to buy some pretty things which are definitely low carb

I'm going to do my best Homer Simpson impression now....

Mmmmmmmmmm Muffin aaaaasgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

Morning all, hope everyone is doing well, better or not too bad. For those under the weather a hug and best wishes for a 'hope you're feeling better soon'.

Just tested and it's 7.8, which isn't too bad considering I've been up for an hour and forgot to check 1st thing again.
I have a good excuse though, some cheeky person has parked (in the back lane behind our house) a large untaxed van on ground we rent from the council.

For the past 2 days my results have been all over the place, from 10.3 down to 5.2, but mostly in 6's & 7's. I haven't been doing anything different, tummy and sinuses playing up a bit, but that's par for the course. Did have some good news this week though, I go to the DN every month to be weighed and I've lost another 2kg. Still plenty more to go, but she was pleased & encouraging and said it's hard to lose weight after 40 and twice as hard to lose after 60. Not being able to exercise or being very mobile doesn't help.

Well I've moaned enough for the day now (sorry), so cheerful face on now.
We're going out to the meat-man later to get pork for Sunday dinner and some steaks. I'm really looking forward to next Sunday, in fact I'm drooling, we're having lamb, mmmmmmmmm. I've been fancying it for ages but it's been so expensive it's been left on the shelf. Last week there was an offer on (still wasn't that cheap) so I bought a leg and froze it. Will make my own mint sauce to go with it and, seeing as I'm not having an Easter egg, will enjoy plenty of the sauce and no guilt.

Probably see you all later, if not have a great weekend . xx

Morning to you all too...tested this am and 9.0 grrr seems to go up then down then up again I did bake some oaties yesterday and ate a couple so maybe thats why ...I used to love baking but do not do so much lately as my hubby refuses to eat them all laughs ..have a great weekend everyone

@Stallen - Hi. Can I ask how long have you been using the Biological Drug Humira? And what for?

@Stallen - Hi. Can I ask how long have you been using the Biological Drug Humira? And what for?
Sure it's for ankylosing spondylitis, I've been using it for just over 3 years, I have to say it's brrought me the biggest health benefit as its pretty much halted the disease in my hips and spine, it can't cure the damage from earlier but really does halt its progression.
I've had to stop it a couple of times for infections whilst on antibiotics and notice the old symptoms so my AS is still active when not using Humira.
Occasionally it is a bit painful when I inject I inject in the thigh muscle, but from what I've read that's pretty normal and is only temporary.

@Stallen - I was using Humira up until last week, it was my 2nd Biological Drug to treat Psoriatic Arthritis of the Spine. I had only been on it 7 months, the first 3 months I had no effect and then in January this year the Arthritic Pain began and more joints were becoming painful, and my 'dormant' Psoriasis erupted. My body is now 95% covered in itchy Psoriasis and my spine and every joint in my body is unbearable with pain. I found for 3 - 4 days after the injection of Humira (I gave it in my tummy) my blood sugars would rise, but not a great deal. I am just waiting to see the Rheumatologist, and just found out today by post that the Dermatologist has signed me up to use yet another Biological Drug called COSENTYX to hopefully clear the Psoriasis. Thanks for your reply.

@liam1955 I can sympathise with you on joint pain, I had minor psoriasis that also cleared up when I started Humira, I hope you find the right treatment soon as I know it's a very unpleasant place to be, when the treatment aren't helping.
Sometimes it's one step forward 3 steps back, hopefully you'll get a massive leap forward in the future.

Wishing you well at this time Liam.

@Stallen - Thanks for your kind wishes. Sorry to bother you again , but I meant to mention - do you get your Liver Function tested/checked? I recently found out that I have Fibrosis of the Liver (waiting to see Liver Specialist) My GP reckons it is a result of taking Methotrexate and Biological Drugs over the past 4 years. Take Care.

That's ok liam, I recently seem to get everything tested including my liver function, which is great shape.
I'm hoping for me its one last hurdle and once surgery is done I can resume a normal lifestyle again, it's all about ups and downs with a lot more ups than downs hopefully.

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

I am being very industrious, I have been cleaning my carpets over the last number of weekends, having to do everything in stages, thankfully I live in a bungalow so only 3 rooms to do but its taking forever. My living room is marked out with tape as to what's done and what's not ! Its a great workout !!

I am going to Dublin tomorrow morning ! My job involves supporting the FM teams around Europe and my former colleagues in Dublin have requested a site visit ! I arranged flights for tomorrow so I can spend most of Sunday with my family who just happen to be gathering at my brothers house tomorrow because it's my niece's 6th birthday. I'll surprise everyone.

I have decided to give my fingers a rest from BG testing today. And I think I really need to rethink the LCHF - which I have been loosely doing - but my weight-loss has stopped and I think its because I might be too HF !! I think I'm wanting to fall into old habits. I can feel myself wanting to slack off

Afternoon. Been doing chores. FBG 6.7 so not bad. It's dry and the sun is trying to pop out. Have a great day folks !

@keebie - Hello. If you would like to give us a quick explanation as to what foods you eat or any particular diet you follow? Some of us will no doubt be able to point you in the right direction!

I'd been hoping for a lie in this morning, but woke up at 6.15 which is when the alarm goes off Mon-Fri, my body clock is clearly set for then! Tested st 6.30 and its 8.0

Not sure what I'm going to do today. My husband is skiing in France this week, so it's just me and the boys at home. I'll probably go to the gym this morning and then do something really exciting like clean out the utility room. Rock and roll!

Hi. Feel like I have been ran over by a 'Steamroller'!! Fasting not good at 8.8??
But, it's 2 days since I stopped the Dapagliflozin, and I increased my Insulin by 2 units yesterday - taking 42 units every morning of Humulin i - think I will test more today

I know what you mean @TooManyCrisps, I still wake at 5am which was when our youngest son got up for years, I prefer early mornings though and usually lie in bed reading from 5am until 6-6.30am when I get up. Bad luck on cleaning the utility room though, if it's anything like mine!
