Thank you very much doolallylady and you too 13lizanne. I hope it is not the cancer too.
Hi liam 1955 Thank you for your concern and very friendly posting, my father was diagnosed with this years ago and had 16 weeks of chemotherapy at Christies in Manchester. He carried on working as a Newsagent for years, now retired and having been in remission for a long time, but unfortunately now at 86 yrs old he thinks it has returned. I have told him until he has the operation to see what is going on it might not be the prostrate problem, but trying to tell someone not to worry is easier said than done. yes you are right in what you read we know 2 people who have it and are only in there 50 and 60s. I do find time to look after myself more now than ever since I was diagnosed diabetic. I was in a mess too with the stress of my now disabled husbands injuries due to a motorbike accident and the death of my only son a few years ago too, I seemed to be running around all the time. I have now learned to take everything in my stride a bit and try not to stress as much as I can. Thank you for your kind words they mean so much to me you sound like a lovey caring person. As for friends on here like you I know I have lots of people who take time to care, like me I will try and help anyone if I can . Thank you.@amgrundy - I am sorry to hear about your Father and I do so hope it is something that can be treated and nothing serious. My "girl-friend"s hubby is waiting to have treatment he is only 67 years old for Prostate Cancer - he asked me months ago which option I would go for: Surgery or Radium. I opted for Radium because having surgery to remove the Prostate it has been known that certain nerves can get damaged, which are responsible for 'rising to the occasion'? (Erections). I have read that it is no longer considered an "old man's condition" - it affects men in their 50's & 60's these days. Money ought to be provided by this Government to screen all men for early detection and treat it before it gets serious. But, there's no money for any programme of screening for men.
You are doing fantastic with your parents and I know just how tiring it can be. But, you have to make "time for you"! I didn't and I ended up in a right mess! I am sending you big HUGS and remember: your friends on here are here for you.
Wishing you well with the results and for the ENT doc.Just off to have my bloods taken for latest HbA1c I'll get results on Tuesday I'm quietly confident it will be 40ishthen on to Hosp to speak to our Autistic son's ENT doc regarding his treatment.
Simply Rocks! My good news for today is I just got my blood test results and my HbA1c is down to 43 - that's another 10 down from last time
Thank youSimply Rocks!
@paula.nolan42 sorry I took that a way not intended.I'm not sure why that's funny
Hi liam 1955 I am sorry too for you having a bad couple of days, we all get times in our lives when life is hard at times. It is overwhelming when you get people who reply and care. I have had so many weeps over the years I could fill a lake, sometimes I think the people who are close to us do care they just don't understand. Anybody else who wants to rant and rave and let it all out please do so I for one will always reply to you. I know through this site I would never have coped today with the diabetes / eating/ foods / support etc; . I know the best place to be is here with everyone fighting the same battle. Thank you again liam1955 and everyone.@amgrundy - I remember now you telling me about your Hubby and Son. I had a bad couple of days recently and was upset, I went on the thread and thought it about time to tell people a little about myself. I was 'overwhelmed' with everybody's reply - I spent quite a lot of time in my bathroom having a good weep. There's people on here who CARE more for me than those who are around me here.
I put on thread also that this forum is not just for how good our blood sugars are or how good we are doing. It is here for anybody to have a rant/rave, a moan or they just need a helping hand. Just wanted you to know.
