Well done ickihunDn was very happy with my bgs. In fact she reconfirmed I was doing right with mymeds and I've lost 3lb since my dietician last week. Hoping canagliflozin doesn't let me down whilst I lose weight and reduce my insulin further. Fingers crossed.
thank you , I wasn't worried but couldn't find anything to say it could of been the tablets. just wanted to prove him wrong lol.@tina_marie you are a saint! Hope Ron's feeling a bit better now -it is normal for BG levels to fluctuate during the course of the day. Almost anything can cause BG to rise and lower. Higher carb food is usually the main reason for rises, followed by illnesses, infections, stress, pain etc. Levels can drop after exercise, time passing after eating, after medication etc and sometimes- for no good reason that we can see at all. Try not to worry, Ron's has wonderful support in you and you are both working hard to keep his diabetes under control. We're all here for supporting you both as well.
Actually, now you mention it, I've been surprised with lower numbers since I came off it. Just put it down to less pain as the new painkillers have taken the fog blanket of aches away. Still got stronger pain spots but tho seem stronger overall more bearable.....Ibruprofen does raise bgs as mixed or coated with a sugar.
Info leaflet should tell you. Myself I didn't on co-codamol but I did feel I was using more energy when I had my sciatica. So in fact it lowered mine.
Everyone is different. Call any pharmacist they should be able to answer that quickly.
In cases of sciatica - movement releases the trapped nerve again. With the help of painkillers.
Hmmm, how many carbs/cals for the entire thing, I wonder, because that's what I'd need to be counting in my day's total if I made that!!!http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/i-dont-want-to-eat.75452/page-5#post-851461
Hope this works, I use it a lot and it works for me
Send him our support too.it was when he took his bg levels last night, he couldn't think of anything he had other than the tablets that could of raised it. I said to him that maybe cause he was resting and not active . this morning back to 6 and at lunch back up in the 7s. hes feeling heady and confused on top of all this. will see how he is tonight. don't know if he has told you but ive given up work to help him .
How do you know it's not 'flu, Paula? There are some weird bugs around right now... xMy Fasting BG was 7.5 this morning.
I was at the GPs this morning, he wants Bloods done so have a bloods appointment at 12 noon.
I haven't been sleeping and I am abnormally tired. I don't feel right at all. I ache with tiredness. This feels like flu but isn't flu.
Is it possible that the carbs I had on the weekend would have done this to me? I don't think so, but what do I know?
Wow! Well done!I am so focussed on the BS numbers that I keep forgetting to weigh myself and look at my weightloss. Well another kilo and a bit has gone this week making that a total of 18.5 kilos since the 10th Feb, in old money that is just a little over 40lbs or almost 3 stone, which even amazed me when I did the conversion!
doctor told him to rest up. so cause I was off yesterday that's what he had to do . decided today that I wasn't going to go to work for the rest of the week. this was suppose to be my last week. naughty I know.thing is with ron he wont do as he is told .Send him our support too.
See how the next few hours pan out. Luckily not huge spikes but annoying nevertheless.
Has he been advised to keep moving or has he been advised to rest?
I've tried a few test foods, but chocolate cake is the only one so far which has given me a whopping great spike, too.Had the opportunity to try a cake test yesterday, BG 6.5 one and a half hrs later 14.5 suitably it was a Thortons smiler chocolate cake,Took 1.5 Glimepiride tablets BG was back to 7 within 40mins.
Chocolate Cake is definitely not on the good food list.
Given I'd had a gluten free poppyseed muffin last month that only raised my BG up to 7.5 it was worth a shot.
I take it it's good then.......@ickihun - Well Done Vicky I am so pleased for youI made a Chai Seed Pudding and scoffed half of it already, if R is not back soon there will be none left!
Just writing up my 'ammendments' to the recipe and will put it on the thread.
I take it it's good then.......
Better hold off on that move to York, @ickihun - it sounds as if William will just be licking the plate when you get there!
All low carb. Almond "flour" is just ground almondsHmmm, how many carbs/cals for the entire thing, I wonder, because that's what I'd need to be counting in my day's total if I made that!!!
will try it at the weekend.ALl GONE! - Washed up, no evidence. Posted recipe on: FOOD and NUTRITION; Post Your Recipes Here page 20. Chocolate and Vanilla Chai Seed Pudding.
Afraid I eat half in one go too but doesn't budge the bs. I've made it with hazelnut butter and it s rather hard to "heap' chia seedsI take it it's good then.......

He's got a mind of his own. How dare he. Ha ha I'm sure he will co-operate when he knows things will get better and you're helping him do that.doctor told him to rest up. so cause I was off yesterday that's what he had to do . decided today that I wasn't going to go to work for the rest of the week. this was suppose to be my last week. naughty I know.thing is with ron he wont do as he is told .

Half? That represents unimaginable self-control in my book!Afraid I eat half in one go too but doesn't budge the bs. I've made it with hazelnut butter and it s rather hard to "heap' chia seeds
