Thanks Kim, I've posted that on another thread that has people on that I know live in that area. Fingers crossed. I tagged you so you can keep an eye out for responses

@KimG unlimited hugs from me. Scream thread will come in handy but I'd prefer if you posted here. We're here for you. Anytime.
Your bgs will just have to run with you. If you get bursts of lack of energy nibble on nuts or cheese which might click you back on track. Drink plenty of water. Keep hydrated hun. Thinking of you. Vicky

Hi @KimG
Hugs to you. I had a similar situation a few years ago with my mother in law and also my father both terminal cancer. I found the Macmillian nurses and also the local hospices really helpful. They both will support the families as well and hopefully would help you with suitable nursing homes. It will be a very stressful time as you are aware and you will have to take it one day at a time.

Thank you for the info.

Thank you for your support Vicky xx

Thank you for your support Hiitsme

Thank you for your support. It's a 50 mile round trip to see my mum. The hospital is recommending palliative nursing homes, I'm going to view a couple tomorrow. The CQC ratings for these are poor. I need to start at a level and work up.

Hi @KimG
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother - that's a really hard thing to deal with. It sounds to me as if you are doing the very best you can in the circumstances, and although there's nothing concrete we can do to help, here on the forum you know you'll always find love, understanding and support. Sending big hugs xxx

Thank you debrasue x

I tried it boiled and mashed but it was wishy washy tasting towards the smell. I think mayb I should've baked it then mashed cos the cooking water probs got all the flavour
Try celeriac rosti or dauphinoise - they're really good.

Morning all.

Reading if 6.9 this morning and considering yesterday was such a manic day with a late finish I bounced along at a regular 6.0 and 5.8 for most of the day with a small dip into the 4.8.

@KimG remember to look after yourself a wee bit too, and sorry about your mum. You will need to vent a lot so please do it and do not bottle it all up. "Sterk" as we used to say in Holland, roughly translated it means "Strength".

Morning everyone . What's happened to the weather? Think its going to be a day of baking for me .

We have a beautiful sunny morning up here in Central Scotland. It's cold though, there was a layer of frost on the garage roof and over the grass at 7am

The suns trying to come out here we've had a dusting of snow over night and according to my friends on facebook we've also had thunder and lightning.

There's a whole bunch of very disconsolate-looking brass monkeys down here in South Gloucestershire this morning, too!
