Type 2 Life

Any fruit other than vino?

Thanks very much, when there's nothink you can do about it you just have to get on with it, not always easy tho, there was me thinking I'd get my glasses after post op in May, think I'll have to wait now, doctor did say Ive got 6/6 distance vision st the moment'. I've got a friend coming over from Iran in couple of months to visit for few days, very controlling person! So a few jobs I wanted to do will have to wait , my daughter will help, must not lift or carry as it puts pressure on eye, luckily the eye pressure was a bit low 8. At least it wasn't high, the othere was 13 , as my friend said, maureen if you buy a jumper it's certain to have hole in it! Being diabetic there's always possibility of amputation or sight loss so now I try not to think about it and just get on with each day, sort each problem as it comes if I can. We're still here that's how I look at it. Been some good news this week about cell transplant for eyes, at least the young ones will have hope. Have a good day hope you and your family are all well x

Don't laugh in Iran often woman use natural yoghurt for thrush tho I've never used it but my friends daughter does. Hope you feel better

Eating out is always a challenge - I sometimes think we have to make the best choices we can, and deserve an occasional treat. You chose the cheeseboard, good choice.

Raise in BG post gym often happens to people so that maybe why?

Gorgeous day in London too, in a sheltered part of the garden with my shorts on, first time this year. A bit of sunshine makes you feel better I think.

Thanks very much, hope your well and good day to yourself

Could be the exercise putting your bg up and if you didn't have breakfast...liver dump... Believe there are threads discussing the effects of exercise on bg.

Hi I started menopause (sorry lads) about same time as you while in Iran, got so depressed, when I came to England was put on HRT to help my bones cos of accident at 4. So it wasn't to bad for me but when I was put on my diabetic meds I was sitting In front of 4 fans!!!!! 24/7. I stopped going out the meds had upset my hormones and it took few months to calm down, never felt so ill in all my life. I was so hot and soaking even in bed, You have my sympathy but check with doctor before taking anythink don't want it to effect your meds, but I'm sure you know that flushes never completly go I still get sometimes, I know many in theirs 70's who still get occasionally, we poor women! Take care hope you feel better soon (hug)

Had 4 sugarfree fibre biscuits. Only meant to have two

Not keen on ice lollies...tho Magnums are another story
You mentioned sugar free finer biscuits, if you don't mind me asking what make ect are they. Where did you buy thanks

@PenfoldAPD , with you there on early starts, weekend is our time so best not to waste... having said that, last night was poor sleep as shoulder was really sore, coupled with dreams... didn't get up till 07:20, which is late.

Using a sourdough starter and never too sure how active it is going to be until well into the fermentation.... but that's part of the fun/mystery.

As @Lindy1706 , pics and recipe for lemon cake would be great to see... like a bit of lemon cake me.

Snow on all the hills round here... need to wrap up well for today's walks.

Such a beautiful morning in deepest Kent this morning I took the dogs out for a nice almost 8K yomp, I took some pics of the lovely Mayday weather here.

*mutters dark and dreadful thoughts*

I'm putting up my "Disturb the organist at your own risk" sign when I return to church later. I've been in a strange mood for a couple of days and the reason became apparent this morning. Sighs, I've not had to deal with the stuff for six months and I was hopeful this menopause thing was going to be over and done with soon. Date noted in diary and recount started.

It does explain my mood, though, and I will try to be kind to myself about my sugar levels if they go all silly on me. (As they did last time when I was less aware these particular hormones could do that!) In the meantime, I'm off for a walk, as I've risked a bit of chocolate to cheer myself up. It also accounts for the acute chocolate craving I had yesterday which I didn't give in to despite mood/tearfulness.

gullon brand. I bought loads from Approved food last year but I believe @Robinredbreast saw them on a pound shop.
They also do choc chip cookies, wafers, Marie & shortbread (nice but nothing like shortbread)

Thanks very much I will try to get, tho not gonna go out much st the moment, a fall or bump is the last thing I need. They look very inviting

Take it out on the organ. Give the congregation a performance they'll never forget!

Very possibly, but the levels always go up in the morning, regardless of what I eat. I usually do eat breakfast before the gym, but didn't have time this morning. My liver really doesn't like me in the mornings!
2 hours after lunch it was down to 6.2, and have just tested and it's now 5.5, I'll be eating dinner in a moment.

I'm currently on the progesterone-only pill, so don't have periods, therefore I have no idea if my bs levels would be affected by my cycle. But I am 49, and know that the menopause will be hitting at some point in the next few years. No signs/symptoms so far but it's interesting to hear how menopausal symptoms might affect bs readings. Another joy to factor in!

I made full use of all the stops! A deeply hormonally challenged organist with good, loud trumpet and reed stops at her disposal is not to be messed with..

I've been menopausal longer than I've been diabetic, and the only other period I've had since diagnosis was whilst I was away staying with friends who worried about feeding me "properly", whose mum is Type 2 and who had absorbed the official line on carbs. So, they gave me carbs she'd said was good and I was really high all that week. But, I'm sticking to my usual food routine this time and hopeful things are on a more even keel now anyway.
