Type 2 Life

I thought about starting a family in my late 20's. Now at 48, the peace and quiet of just me at home is very appealing. I'm glad the thrush is ending...yay!

Great new avatar Barbara you are always smiling in each new photo going to call you ms smiley from now on xcxx @Diamum5972
I like that idea I decided not to go on the bike ride after all, my pedometer is reading 20,000 steps just from walking round Rugby this afternoon!

That's fantastic news Vicky, what a relief! Enjoy your time with him, and your well deserved treat

That is brilliant. Look at you! If you haven't lost this week I'll eat my hat.
Ps. Avatar makes you look very slim. You are truely conquering this diabetes. Well done!
Aww thanks Vicky! I surprised myself, I would never have had the energy before I started low carbing. I've only got 6 pounds to go before I hit my target but I don't want to overdo it - I made that mistake before

@Diamum5972 - Hi Barbara . What a good idea to have a Pedometer. Where did you buy that from? And how much was it? Thanks, William x

I got mine from the DCUK shop, it was about £3.99. I've also seen them in Poundland but you'll have to be quick, they go like hot cakes!

@Diamum5972 - Thank You Barbara for that information = much appreciated. Anymore good ideas or gadgets you have? Do share!! William x

Lol no problem. I usually leave the gadgets to A, he's the expert but when I saw this pedometer for that price I couldn't say no! I was thinking about getting a fitbit until I saw the price and my thrifty Scottish genes won out

Ron got his fitband from promotion packs of special K bars. For someone who is supposed to be on light duties he ain't half doing alot of walking at work .

Only way to find that out is to do it . Not going to ask Ron to do it though as his balance is rubbish at the moment . He cant even stand on two feet without the wobbles.

Hi. Can someone answer this question? I had 2 Steroid Injections on Friday (3 days ago now) How soon should I start to feel the effects from the Steroid working on my joints? Because I don't feel any different! = Thanks in advance
Short-acting work within hours but only last for a week or so. Longer-acting solution can take up to a week to take effect but should last for a couple of months. Your practice could tell you which one you had...
Hugs xx

It sounds as if you had the longer-lasting version, then, which should start to work by this Weds or Thurs but should last for a month or two. That would make sense, as your knee should have pretty much healed by then. Fingers crossed.
Hugs xx

@Sable_Jan - No. Rheumy sent me for multiple X-Rays and bloods to be done first, then the Nurse said the injections were Intramuscular. I am at the Hospital next Thursday f o r something else, so I could leave a message with the Rheumy's Secretary.
I think the intramuscular injections are the longer-lasting ones... The ones they inject into the joints seem to work pretty much straight away, although they don't last very long. (Sorry for the slow responses - I've missed 24 hours because I was laid up myself!)

Good gracious 20,000 is brilliant Barbara roughly how many miles? I used to know
Depends on your length of step. Mine's from DCUK shop and you take 10 steps, measure it, divide by 10 and that's what you set it to for accurate, at least more accurate, mileage. It's set at 30" and my step is only 22".... You also set your weight for it to work out calories used.
