Type 2 Life

@ japes @debrasue thanks for your help. I have to go to London, not easy when your not in your own home, I will have to do a lot of travelling while I'm there so want to keep easy snacks with me, I will make those snacks as you suggested. Been bad few weeks for me, getting worse, getting harassed more now, if it doesn't stop soon I will have to try do somat about it, friend arrives tomorrow from London, she came from abroad few days ago. Going to London together, Hope everyone's well

Forgot to say, my heads all over the place, stressed, bought some 85% chocolate othere day & left it in the basket, came home looked every where realy fancied a treat!!! I had paid for it, put everything else in my bag, but forgot the chocolate, some lucky shopper must be happy now

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear the rat problem hasn't been resolved. It seems that you're going to have to take things further, Maureen, to get it sorted once and for all. Why not do it now, when you have your friend around for some support?
I hope you have a lovely time in London.
Big hugs xx

@eldergarth - Hi Ron, sorry to hear about your diagnoses from Neurology. Let's hope you don't have to wait too long for your Scans. As Vicky has said- the sooner they are done the sooner you can start treatment.

Good luck with your scan. Hope all goes well, my first husband had MS & my friend has it, let's hope doctors wrong, take care will be thinking of you. (Hugs)

Thank, you , hes all tucked up in bed now , hes totally creamed crackered after today. How are.you?

Thanks, going to get my passport, maybe Sunday we both meet him & give final warning but don't think it will do any good, getting load of verbal abuse, calls, txts, I'm looking over my shoulder all time & checking caller display, this has got to stop I'm so stressed, few friends have offered to get their leather boots out of the cupboard ! My friend suggested going back with her for a break but dhe goes from London, Birmingham is best for me cos of return. Anyway hope your well, you've been posting some lovely pics recently, is it your grandchild? Great pic

Hi @tina_marie - Some days the Arthritic Pain is bearable and other days it just never seems to settle, moaning about it is not going to take it away or make it stop. I just have to keep plodding onwards. I have now been on Steriod Tablets nearly 3 weeks and they have done nothing positive for pain relief, I have only suffered some of the side effects - that are not nice.
I had a Ultrasound Abdominal Scan on 30th June and a MRI Liver Scan on 27th July, so I don't think Ron will have too long a wait for his? (Hope not) But, he is another step forward to receiving the treatment. You also have to look after yourself and keep your strength up. We are all here for You and Ron - hope you both have a lovely weekend. William x

Maureen, my lovely, I hear what you're saying, but I agree that another final warning probably won't do any good. People like him thrive on that. What he's doing is totally against the law and the police would jump on him from a great height. He could - with a bit of luck - end up being sent away for a long time, especially as this isn't the first time he's done this to you. Please, Maureen - let 'em have him. We're all getting distressed on your behalf!
Thanks for your kind comments about the photies. Yes, this one is No. 1 granddaughter, Lexi, taken by her mum when we were horsing around in my garden a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you , you have all been wonderful with your support , Ron and I are really grateful to you all . I'm remaining positive about the outcome from the scan as we don't yet know for sure it is MS . The signs and symptoms also cover other illnesses to. If it does happen to be so then we will face it head on just like we have with everything else . As for me well cant grumble , I'm here for Ron and anyone else that needs a hug or shoulder to cry on or just to let of steam to. Love to everyone . Xxx

So no ALA and lower bgs whilst having fun and relaxing.
I've always known stress is a killer.
Any plans to have some long weekends to emulate your good levels once home?

Well, I am told I m going to have to relax for several days after an arthroscopy on my knee, and then for 6 weeks after they've replaced it.

Do these count?

Thanks William been a big shock to system but will see what the scan comes back with .
Hope you are not suffering to much with your arthritis and you are getting the treatment you need

I'm sure Debra @debrasue will be along soon.
You can have your treat. Low carb choc sauce is melted 90%choc and double cream sweetened with stevia sprinkles from morrisons. Same sauce added to vanilla Oppo ice cream. Nothing is impossible hun.
Obviously easier if already in fridge/freezer at home.
You are doing brilliantly. How did you measure your ketones?

Morning. FBG 10.8 mmol/l and don't know the cause of that, will retest in 30 mins in case it's an error. Dull and cool here. Got plenty to do today. My chest infection has shifted. Can't wait for the next pathogens lol.

You can have it, honey! But it's worth remembering that, if you give in to a craving for the real stuff, you'll set up an even greater craving for more. But, as @ickihun says, there are substitutes for pretty much anything. (I've not found one for white bread yet, but I'm still persevering!)
There are some great icecream recipes here (including chocolate!):

You may not necessarily have to give up rice entirely, either. Many people, myself included, find we can tolerate a little wholemeal, brown or wild rice (in my case, up to 125g doesn't spike me if eaten with a medium to high-fat meal). I wouldn't do it every day, but it might be worth you trying a little and then testing 1 and 2 hours later, to see the results...
Browse the net for low-carb recipes, read the Food, Nutrition and Recipes forum on this site, experiment, and enjoy!
(And don't forget to share your success stories with the rest of us!)

@eldergarth out of curiosity; do you have attacks after low carb food?
When I went TOO low carb my nerves were on edge and shaky but not a hypo.
I know your specialist knows best, believe me but I just thought in the interim low carb is only helpful for eye vessel damage. MS people need a different diet. Have you or @tina_marie looked at those?

@debrasue in bed maker use almond flour or seseme flour instead of wheat flour for white bread.
Paleo diet books are an interesting read.
I just carnt afford the expensive ingredients! Huff! :-(
