@ellagy - Good for you Jaki - enjoy it. At least I tried!Have a lovely evening I am off for my evening meal.
Ellagy - When I read you've been taking Methotrexate, it made me think of one of our members, @poshtotty who used to take it, and had the most fabulous outcomes from eating a low carb diet. She started a thread about it, here: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/my-life-since-discovering-lchf.66929/ . It makes a great read, and hopefully could help you along.
(Hope you're well, Ms Posh.)
Thank you AndBreathe that was a very good post, makes you wonder doesn't it?
I certainly do!I think it probably illustrates (to me), to a degree anyway, how complex our bodies seem to be, and goes some way to suggest we need to look at the bigger picture. But stunning outcomes for MsPosh, I hope you'll agree?
I certainly do!
@Freema I know @Robbity experimented with extra fat in the lchf diet. Im unsure how that concluded and the affects on cholesterol? Maybe @Robbity can update us?thank you dear Liam... I am still new to all this , and there is so much to learn, my main speculations is about if high fat would be healthy in the long run..... this is a riddle I´d like so solve before i through myself into lchf-diet.
I do manage okay actually right now lost 3Stones and tomorrow going to get my first HbAc1 since I took control myself over my blood glucose... I am very optimistic as my blood glucose has only twice been over the 7mmol area and mostly 6 or below
I have started doing fitnees after I lost the first 12 kg , and doing fine there too... today burnt 904 calories ...so a bit proud of myself.... just sad I had to become diabetic before I took my Health seriously and forced myself to Loose weight...
I´ll return with some questions when something is to strange or troublesome...
also I am in a Lucky position that I do not Work and have plenty of time to do fitness and take long walks most everyday it is much harder for people with far too much Work and obligations

Yes, I'm well, thank you AB. Thanks for the mention.
In the last 6 months I've had a couple of new physical challenges - a meniscus tear in my knee and a rotator cuff muscle injury which made me feel a tad wretched for a while and limited my physical activity but curiously both have healed themselves within 6 months without medical intervention. This confirms to me that my body is receiving the right nutrients to repair itself. I no longer take supplements, but will take Vit D through the winter again.
Wishing you well, @ellagy. Its a brave move, but it can work. Even the consultants are admitting that a change in diet can be helpful in improving RA symptoms although they still push the drugs!
Hey have been to my diabetic nurse today and Got my først HbAc1 (44 ) after diagnosis and change of diet It was a bit higher than I thought it would be so well it is okay But Then I Can see it Will become more difficult to get it Down to 35 as I'd like it to be. On the other hand my cholesterol has com Down to totally 4,3 and my LDL SAS normal so very happy Then my doctor Will NOT keep presuring me to take statins....
That's better William good to see that cheeky face again .Have searched most of the afternoon to find my Funny Face Avatar - and found it.
From what you've just posted Liam it seems I was 'normal' for my last hba1c tho I certainly don't feel normal recently, quite down & depressed, my last hba1c said 3.3 cholestrol. 0.7 tryclicerite. & 41mmol, being tested again in couple of weeks & I certainly know it's not that anymore! Been bit naughty @ freema. Congratulations well done ! Love the avatar but frefered your picWell Done @Freema - That is a brilliant result of your Cholesterol at 4.3 and your HBA1C at 44 this puts you in the category of Prediabetic.
Categories:
